the caller asked for a Staff person by their [full] first name, which that particular Staff person never uses at this Agency. Put the caller on hold & googled the number. Found this:

Some guy named Anthony has called several times and requested someone by their full name, I put him through to their voicemail. He immediately called back and said that he was working on behalf of the Dept. of Labor and had a SCHEDULED meeting, stating the date of said meeting and time. He wanted his call returned to confirm this "scheduled" meeting. I took a message, his call was returned and quickly confirmed that he was lying to get someone on the phone. Lying doesn't really get your service sold, but nice try, Anthony.

This is an awesome company and recently helped about 200 of my employees with their retirement plan. I highly recommend speaking with this company.

Here is the real story about this company.

Once upon a time there was a company called 401kExchange (google it).  401kExchange was corrupt and very unethical.  It went bankrupt, so some of the employees started their own version of 401kexchange and named it Retirement Plan Ratings.  The end.

Got a call from some guy that spoke really fast. He wanted to speak to the person in charge of the 401K plans. He went on to inform me that he was not a telemarketer nor was it a sales call. He just wanted to update their records. In my head I was like you can eat this middle finger because we have never dealt with your company (I have access to my company's vendors and customers). So I started to dig deeper into the intention of his call by questioning him. He kept avoiding my questions and kept reiterating that he wants speak to the person in charge of the 401K plans. So I pushed on with my questioning. He eventually realized that his [***] call is not going to get anywhere and finally hung up.

A lady just phoned to state that she needed to speak with someone with my company payroll / 401K administrator.  I never give out that information.  I expressed that I would be more than happy to take her information and relay...  CLiCK!

    Talk about a red flag!

Any solid business would leave contact information.

This time it was Howard of 401K
Wanted to speak to either the 401K Administrator or the Dir. of HR Advised Howard of my company's procedure to submit in writing.

In exchange for this information he indicated he was not interested and proceeded in using bulldozing bully tactics. Advised that regardless if selling, updating, market survey, research, etc... I must follow my company's procedures and they want it in writing.

Very pushy, unsolicited and if you are legit you will leave me your company name and number - she thought by speaking very fast I would fall for it. She even said the company a hundred miles an hour. I asked that they remove us from the call list. Doubt she'll comply she was so rude.

I was reluctant at first with the caller Eddie.
I requested emails and a call back later
after verifying the info and taken their no cost plan review
I was Furious to find out the hidden and wrapped fees we was over paying
we were please with the outcome because we were able to save 8,000 grand and put it back into the plan
with social security now a days we are glad to learn how much money we were able to save $$

    ^ Spot the Shill.

Got a call and they asked for our 401 K person. Didn't want to give their company name, so I said we're not interested, put us on your DNC list. She called back a few minutes later; I hung up (it's rude, I know; but really, really satisfying to slam the receiver down on these toads).

    1) a company calling you must properly ID themselves - by law
    2) a company must honor when you tell them you're not interested/put us on your DNC list - by law.

That this company refuses to adhere to the law tells me everything I need to know - and that is we will never do business with them.

Their DNC list doesn't last long. They called; I just put them on hold and waited to see how long it took them to hang up. (Answer: about a minute and a half.)

What do I love about 800Notes most? Searching a questionable number, finding out what scams are connected (lol!) to that number. I can usually drop the caller into our fax line before the second ring.

Fast-talker asked for 401K Administrator, is that still (first name, last name of long-gone employee)?  Said his company conducts and independent review of the company's retirement plan AS REQUIRED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR, and that he was not trying to sell anything.

Surly, monosymballic caller asked for 401K Administrator.  When asked, she responded with only her first name.  When asked for her last name she gave it.  When asked for the company name she said RPR.  When asked what RPR stood for she sighed heavily and said Retirement Plan Rating.  When told her colleague had called a few minutes earlier she hung up.

They've changed their name again.  Now they are Consulting Connections LLC - appropriately enough, the CID shortens this to "Cons Connect."  They do indeed connect as they were previously called Retirement Plan Ratings and 401k Exchange before that but they are the same lowlifes.
