WTF!!!!  How do you stop it?

I got this text too.  I am on the "do not call" registry.  I am not sure if that covers "do not text".

After receiving the same text message on my cell phone, a message for which I am charged, I immediately contacted Verizon Wireless and was told to reply "Stop", and according to the Verizon representative, they will stop.  I also had her make a note of our conversation so I will not be charged for the text message, nor my reply.

The Verizon representative said the Do Not Call Registry does not apply to text messages on your cell phone.

SMS spam to my Verizon Wireless phone, put the number on a sms block list in my account. Some stupid pay day loan scam.

Same as everyone else - got a spam text offering a $900 payday loan for holiday cash. Looks like a scam.

Got the same payday loan text. I reported it to the do not call list. According to the FCC website:
"FCC rules prohibit sending unwanted text messages to your wireless phone number if they are sent using an autodialer, or if you have placed that number on the national Do-Not-Call list."

So please file a complaint for the do not call list violation at:

Lets make this sender pay a large fine. The more complaints, the more of a chance they will actually be fined.
