i received a phone call at work threatening me for civil process for a debt i supposed to have. Caller refused to identify the company, refused to give me callers name, and alleged debt information. Caller told me they were going to contact the human resources at my company, and told me they were going to have me served legal documents at my place of employment. I have no information of this debt, have no information on this company as the female caller refused to supply me with any information. I was threatened and verbally abused. i told them if they would supply me with a written notice on their company letterhead, of the alleged debt, i would call the attorney general of texas to verify their legitimacy as a debt collector and would work to resolve the alleged debt.

If they don't identify themselves and give you info about anything, you'd better believe they are scammers!!!!!

I also received a call from this company. It came through as a restricted call and I never pick those up anyway. It went straight to voicemail. Caller said that they have a legal document and have verified my place of employment and that if I do not respond in 24 hours that they will begin some kind of action. These are usually some debts that have gone long past the statute of limitations that these companies have bought for pennies on the dollar. I tried once resolving a debt like this, gave them my checking account info so they could begin automatic withdrawals at a date that i specified I would have enough funds for them to begin weekly withdrawals. It was less than 24 hours that they had already hit my account 3 times, causing my account to be overdrawn. I had to immediately go to the bank, close my account, explain what happened, and they allowed me to go ahead and open a new account for being a longtime customer. Now I just don't deal with them, they refuse to identify and employ tactics that will literally scare anyone into resolving debts that have legitimately expired far beyond legal redemption.

Call came through on caller ID as Private Number
I received a message on my home machine. The man speaking wasn't very understandable.
The small bit of what I understood was
A law firm has received a claim against 'someone' (I couldn't make out the name) & that actions
Would be taken with or without our cooperation.  He said something about employment being verified & contacted.
He also cited a specific address in Houston, Tx (I live in Dfw area of Tx).
He left a callback number of (562) 888-3657 & referenced a. 4-digit 'file' number.
He also mentioned something about 24 hours and the local authorities being notified.

Ellos hablaron a casa de mi suegra y contesto uno de mis cunados..el pudo decir aqui no vive y se termina el problema.
Pero no el siguio aunque somos dos personas con el mismo nombre en esta familia el se refirio a mi..quiza porque le cahigo mejor y quizo cuidarme,pero en vez de decirme a mi,se lo dijo a mi esposo.
Mi esposo se preocupo y me trajo el telefono cuando lo vi de inmediato me di cuenta que era un fraude telefonico.
Por fabor no sean metidos familia y si alguien habla a tu casa preguntando por alguien que no vive alli,simplemente di la verdad.
