Scary ...  The caller stated they were from dept of treasury his name was david gray , and that I may be subject to prosecution if I didn't call back . He didn't have my name

I received the same message, same name throughout the day.  Must be a scam.

It sounded like a recorded message that was scripted

Anybody want to join me in filing class action against this loser that has too much time on his hands? What a blatant, outright moron. He is breaking the law and needs to be made a scapegoat.
He says he will file charges against magistrate (who uses that word?) and Supreme Court if I do not return the call, alleging I am wanted for "Federal prosecution" ....by the US Treasury...

Good luck to you finding someone who can catch the culprit, the number is likely spoofed with the caller safely secure overseas. Not answering in any way is probably the best defense. If these goons cared about any law, they wouldn't be posing as "government agents". The "magistrate" garbage is a pretty good indication of a scam. You can try filing class action, but you're probably not going to get any results. What harm is a scammer without anyone to try and trick?

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.   Block and ignore.   DO NOT RETURN THE CALL!

IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

Not possible.  The callers are located in India and Pakistan and as such beyond the reach of US law.  Invest in a call blocker.

Six of these stupid calls in one day! The later ones had a different phone number 765-253-4559!  Plus a different robo call saying it was the IRS filing a law suit.  The next one I get I am going to tell the, to call David Grey LOL

Got calls from them several times. . Also from 1-260-0607 from Harlan IN. I have 2 messages on my answering machine. Once I picked up I kept trying to speak, but was a recording.

they are calling from a (202) 000-0001 number.. I just got a call telling me to call the 567 number. I tried to call them both and nothing. Blocked or not in service numbers.
