Got called on the 21st.it was a hang up call. I immediately returned the call only to hear a verizon wireless pre recorded message the number has been disconnected or changed.I then called verizon customer service and they cant figure out how someone is calling my house from a disconnected number. I googled it and got this info here.I suspected a scam,now I know it was one.

How are these people calling people from the same number then having it come back disconnected?Seems it happens alot for being a disconnected number.

This was a credit card scam ignoring the DNC list.

Credit card scam.  Recording: "This is your credit card company calling.  There is no problem with your card.  Please call us urgently regarding your eligibility for a lower interest rate."  Or something to that effect.  Yuck.

Uhhhhhh....it was a recording.  I like wasting their time, but talking back to a recording may actually be a waste of mine!

They keep leaving automated VMs about lower credit card rates.  What's the point of being on the do not call list?  >:-[

I have been called repeatedly being offered lower interest rates, but I told them I would call m credit card compan back if I were interested.  Then I hung up.  I still get calls.  Very frustrating!

The question is....

Is that the company's number? I'm getting phone calls from other numbers and some of them are faked...such as "800-000-0001".  I got a bunch of calls that apparently led back to Verizon and the American Heart Association (I got the number with *69), but I'm starting to think that those phone numbers are faked too.

I did pick up as it just indicated "wireless caller" and it was a recording that said there is no problem with your credit card account but call right away to find out how to lower your interest rate on credit card debt.  I don't know the company but it is a scam.

Call came in from this number.  No message left.  Now I know not to answer, thanks.

received incoming call from this number at 1:03pm 1-25-11, did not answer the phone, no message was left.

Showed up on my caller id.

I received a recorded message from this number saying they were calling from my credit card company, there are no problems with my account but we need to call another number to get a reduced interest rate. No mention of the credit card company name or the name associated with my account.

1. We're on the PA do not call list - 5 years running.
2. Got to be a total scam - I say report them to the state.

I keep getting these calls all the time and i don't even own a credit card. I never will either, interest rates are crazy. I was googling several numbers that are constantly calling me (most telemarketers or credit card scam) and found all of your comments. thanks for all the info.

The woman had the audacity to tell me that she would keep calling me and that my DO NOT CALL registry call did not apply.  Theirs was not a solicitation call but rather a notification since my payment record was so good.  She actually had my name and number but I suspect this is based on called ID and not on knowing anything else about me.  I reported this to the FCC today (1-28-11) and am waiting to see what they say.

I received a call from them a week ago and asked the person who came on after you press 9--Which credit card are you calling about--They immediately hung up.. Today I asked them to remove me from their call list and they hung up. I have reported them to the Attorney General in my state and local law officials.

Robo called at work offering 6.9% rate on credit cards.  I asked operator who picked up to put my number on DNS list, but he hung-up instead.

So I'm guessing these scammers are getting nowhere in the States and are now trying Canadian phone numbers?! Within an hour I received a call from this number and another number from 212 area code (didn't answer either call as I don't recognize these area codes). I looked 'em both up and found their numbers here. Glad that, as a rule, I don't answer calls from ph #s I don't recognize....
