They don't knock on doors.  What they are required to do is to send you that dunning letter.  It is detailed when it is supposed to have been sent and what it is supposed to contain in my other post. Failure to send that is the first violation of the law and gives you the start of a lawsuit.

These People contacted me a while back told me I owed Best Buy some Money around 400 dollars I contacted first Best Buy then my Bank to see if I owed money.  It didn't make sense because I sent a computer to my friend in CA. I asked the Question why would Best Buy Ship a computer to my Friend if it wasn't paid for?  Went to my bank we called Best Buy they told my bank & Me I owed nothing.  So it's a Scam don't answer this scam.

Debt Collector calling my work number for someone who used to have my number.  Says they are NCC

Automated call from this number, States my name and says it's NCC.  I must call immediately.  So, not calling.  Con artist!

I got a call from this number that comes up as Woodbridge, Va. the lady told me she was in a Washington State. She was also calling for my husband. Although she tried to get info from me, I told her to get bent. I don't know her company she claims to be from called JP portfolio or something. So I told her to call my husband if it's a legit collections. She said she had 8 numbers listed so I told her to call all 8 and find him. In today's world of telephone fraud, youjust can't be to trusting of any voiceamd take their word for it.

Called & when I answered my phone, they immediately disconnected. Believe this number to be a scam. I don't understand why a person or person(s) does this sort of thing?  I mean come on, how old are you!  Get a life!!!!

Said hello twice (1st ID'd the business name), still nothing. Said I'm not hearing anything, what do you want to sell us? Then quietly hung up. Very unprofessional. BUSINESSES SHOULD BE REQUIRED BY LAW TO HAVE CALLER ID INCLUDE THEIR NAME, not just the phone number.

They keep calling my cell phone in reference to a hospital bill or something for my husbands son from 4+ years ago while he was living with us (thankfully that POS has since gone back to his Mommy where he belongs). I spoke to them a couple of times and informed them that I was his wife but, since my name is not on the account and I'm not his Mother they wouldn't talk to me. So...please lose my cell phone number and stop calling me from different numbers which I have to block. You down with the FCC...you down with BBB?

When I answered the call, there was silence on the other end so I hung up.

Uknown number don't know anyone in Virginia,they call every day.
