- RogerWas told to pay up within an hour. Quoted deliberate attempts to defraud the IRS. Threatened in several ways. Was told I ignored the three attempts to respond sent to me by certified mail. I then requested the tracking numbers and was told that was not possible.Big red flags. BOGUS-Do not fall for this.

- Lori| 1 replyFYI, this is the complaint I submitted to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC): I received a missed call and voice mail from the following number, 5715998178 at 1:01 pm EST today, 11/12/2015. The voice mail is a pre-recorded message that states "Hello. This call is officially a final notice from IRS, Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number 5715998178. I repeat, 5715998178. Thank you." I called the number back several times, but the line was busy. I finally got through to a representative, and I said, "Hello, I just got a voice mail from you guys." The representative immediately hung up the phone. I called back a few more times, got a busy signal, but finally got through to someone. The representative said "Hello" and I said, "Hello I just got a voice mail from you guys." "She said. "Ok, so you know what this is about?" I said, "You guys are suing me, correct? Then she hung up. I called back, and the same representative answered, and said she was sorry that we got disconnected, and that her name is Sandra Lewis, Badge # AL0894 and that she works for the IRS. I confirmed with her, and I asked her if this was the correct information to report to the FTC. She then asked me why I would want to do that. I told her it is because this seems very suspicious to me. She then told me she would pull up my file, and that she just needed my number. I gave her my number, again, as they already have it, and she tried to confirm my address. She had my correct address, but it made me uncomfortable that they have my home address, so I told her that was not my correct address. She asked me for my new address, and I told her I would not give her that information, then she immediately hung up on me.
I figured this was a scam, but I wanted to see exactly how much information they had on me. Everyone should report them to the FTC, if they get enough complaints they will get law enforcement involved.- Caller: IRS Scammers
