They don't know my name, but claim that it is in my best interest to call them back because 'treasury' asked that I appear in front of a justice !

Yep...simple variation on the IRS scam.  You bring up a great point...they don't know your name but you're going before  a justice.  A justice of what, do you suppose.  Thanks for posting.  Hopefully your info will keep the scammers from fooling anyone with this number.  Well done.

This is another scam try calling back and get disconnected

I was called twice by these people and the first phone number that they called from was disconnected but the number that they left in the voice message was this one and when I called back they talked about how I was in violation of three different IRS codes and they were the IRS and I would be arrested because there is a warrant out for me and my taxes from 2011 - 2015 we're being audited but I would be able to resolve all of it now by paying almost $4,000.

The phone number was 585-386-8171. Both voicemails that were left to me or automated and lacking in specificity and the person I talked to sounded like Indian descent.

I plan on contacting the real IRS about this situation and report them

I just got the same thing. They have called a couple of times in the past. They said this is the last call and they are going to take me before a judge. I'm suppose to be in real trouble if I ignore the call and don't call back. They do not know my name. They left a message. The caller ID identified them as Angelica. They claimed they were the US Treasury.

Got the same call about owing money to US Treasury etc..  I live in Canada

They just called me and I did not answer - now I'm glad I didn't.  I am no longer answering calls from numbers I don't recognize.  This sort of thing seems to be going around a lot lately.

Just got the same message as reported above. Called the number but couldn't understand a word the guy was saying. (sounded Indonesian) so I hung up.

Just I a called for this number. Did not answer, but left a message stating that it's their second attempt and for me to call back immediately or I would face judgement.  My advice, any number you don't recognize, just Google it and see what is all about and who called you.  Then you block them from your phone.  These scammers need to learn that American are not easily fool.  IRS or any goverment agencies do not call you to harrass you on payment without sending you a letter first.  Keep that in mind.  These scamners want you to make payment to them in a form of Western Union or wire transfer.  Please, do not so or you be their victims.

Just received a call from this number. Caller ID says it's from Angelica NY. Same as the rest of these posts. Say the call is intended to contact me, but not name, just a slight hesitation before telling me to return the call.

I just received a call from this number also.  US Magistrates are involved and more fines will be levied.

The ominous message:

"Contact you this is regarding an enforcement action by US treasury and tending your serious attention. to avoid initial appearance before magistrate judge or the grand jury for a federal criminal offense. our number is 585-386-8171. We advise you to cooperate with us and help us to help you. Our number is 585-386-8171"

There are more scammers in the world than honest people.

What a bunch of Morons, using a robo caller?? Go away.

Same as everyone else - the IRS scam call.  They leave a very ominous robo message.  Poor grammar, no mention of my name in the message:

"Contact you this is regarding an enforcement action by US treasury and tending your serious attention. to avoid initial appearance before magistrate judge or the grand jury for a federal criminal offense. our number is 585-386-8171. We advise you to cooperate with us and help us to help you. Our number is 585-386-8171"

Call shows up from Angelica, NY on my caller ID.  For those worried, know that the IRS will NEVER EVER call you.  They will send a letter.  Just call block the number.  Impossible for the police and FBI to keep up with these people, so sad.

Received a threatening call from these folks as well, by automated message. Obviously fake scam of some sort. Is there a way to hunt these people down and release my stresses upon them?
