The caller hung up when I picked up the phone and said “hello”

Scammers, they call a lot, don’t answer always see if messages is recd if not BLOCK them.

9:00 pm . Answered…no one there.

It was a market research company

'Market research' but with no focus stated. Very short - age, household members in media or government and postal code.

This company  has had their  PBX hacked because the number is for Elemental Materials in Calgary,  but the callers are not with that company - scammers

No hacking involved.  You are simply another Canadian who has never heard of "Caller ID Spoofing".  Why don't Canadians know about that?

Call blocked at 7:06PM last night. Robocallers can not respond to the challenge question and thus o not get through. Some previous reports suggest this is a survey company, but legitimate surveys even if automated do not use "spoofed" numbers to appear as local. My suspicion is this is a scammer trying to get personal information or to validate an active number for future attempts.

They called asking to conduct a survey for the Canadian government. The Caller ID showed up as “Alberta.” I don’t know why I participated…

I’m connecting the dots now that the previous day I fell prey to a scam text from apparently “Canada Post” asking me to enter my information (name, shipping, date of birth, credit card) for an attempted delivery. It was from a different number. I wonder if these two are connected? Are they trying to get samples of my voice now too?

They mostly had me answer questions like “from one to ten, what would you say…” and I’d give a number. I think they did have me confirm my address… yikes.

I just got the call now too and same thing happened. 2/15/2023 @4:07 PM. I called back and it has a automated message and an answering machine.

She stated it's a survey on behalf of the government.
However they asked me for my year of birth. The government has this information.
This cannot be a true call on behalf of the government.

They told me their names were Damon and Stefan Salvatore!!!! I just laughed and hung up the phone
