I keep recieving calls from this annoying carpet cleaning company, that I have never solicited.

I have pressed the option to get off this list at least 5 times, and have pressed the #1 option at least twice so that I could personally ask to be taken off the list.  The operator hung up on me.  They just keep calling and offering carpet cleaning.

Computer dialed recorded message selling carpet cleaning by a "local company" but call came from New Hampshire and I live in Phoenix, AZ.  Press 1 to schedule an appt or 8 to be removed from list.  I pressed 1 and got a person.  I asked for the name of the company placing the call since my number is on the Do Not Call list.  She replied "Sure" and then hung up.

I received a call from this number with a recorded message regarding carpet cleaning, saying that they were in "my neighborhood".  The 603 area code is in New Hampshire, but I'm in the Los Angeles area.

I am on the DNC list, and report every telemarketing call that I receive, but the calls seem to be more frequent, at about 5 call a week.  It seems that the DNC list is a joke for many of the telemarketers.  Has anyone been able to successfully prosecute any of these companies?

They really pissed me off the other day as I was trying to sleep off some jet lag. I pressed "1" to schedule an appointment (not really) and a woman answered. When she asked for my number I said, "Don't you have it..you called me." She said, "It's a random dialer." I said, "You know that's illegal?" She said, "Yes." I said, "If you know it's illegal then why are you doing it?" She said, "Don't know. Gotta go," and hung up.

I am on the DNC. Someone please stop these people or I will!!!

THE SAME....IT TAKES ONLY 2 MINUTES OR LESS.  THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THESE JERKS.  IT MAY NOT STOP THEM TODAY, BUT EVENTUALLY.  DO YOUR PART!  YOU'LL SPEND LESS TIME FILING A COMPLAINT, THAN ANSWERING THEIR STUPID CALLS AND TALKING TO AN ASS....THAT DOESN'T CARE IF THEY BOTHER YOU!

About 3 times a week for the past several months I have been getting a phone call and when I answer there is a sound, a click and the call is terminated from the callers end. This is very annoying. Today I was exercising and the phone rang, same as the others, no one there. I did *69 to get number of last caller and it was 603-214-3637. It did sound as if it was a computer generated call. I just went to the link above to file a complaint on donotcall.gov. Thanks for the link Zeke. I was already on their list. Telemarketers are social parasites.

More than one call from 603-214-3637, located in New Hampshire. Claims a carpet cleaning service. I pressed #1 for an operator and as soon as I said "we are on the Nat... (trying to say National No Call Registry), they hung up.

Reported same to the FTC Do-Not-Call Complaint Registry and suggest every one do that with every scam call they get. When the FTC gets enough complaints, they go after the twerps and fine the crap out of them. Lets nail these parasites. Save the date and time they called fr the complaint.

Got another prerecorded call today from Allison of Carpet Care.  I pressed 1 to ask to get off the list but the person hung up on me.

I too just received a prerecorded call today (03-May-2008) from Allison of Carpet Care.  I pressed 1 to ask to get off the list but the person hung up on me.  I then went to DNC to file a complaint, and received this. Are they re-registering their number every 30 days to get around DNC Registry?

This number just called me (1pm Pacific time) and no one there. I found Zekes's posting and took his advice and filed a DNC complaint. Unlike Gary, my complaint was accepted and confirmed. I've been receiving calls from carpet cleaning services for over 6 months (different caller ID #'s) and when I tell them I have all hard wood floors they start selling drapery cleaning services. When I explain further that I'm a renter and I'm not going to pay to professionally clean my landlord's drapes and to please take my number off their calling list they just hang up. They continue to call. You can not reason with them so don't waste your time, just file a complaint.

When you enter the complaint, the first number you enter is the number the telemarketer called, i.e., your phone number.  That checks if you are in the do-not-call registry, and the note you saw was stating that the telemarketer's phone number was entered in less than 30 days ago.  On the next screen, you enter the telemarketer's phone number and company name, if available.

Illegally called my number, as I am on the national DNC registry.

Same here.  Violation of "Do Not Call".  I kept pressing buttons, when I hit "8" it said "Your request to be put on our do not call list will be honored"  But who knows if that will work.  I get about 1 or 2 calls a month from these "carpet" idiots.
