I have been getting calls from PC Connection for TWO YEARS!!  In the beginning I was nice and explained that I was uninterested and unimpressed with the pricing on their website.  I did that dance for about 6 months with a sales rep named Chester Dupont.  I finally just stopped taking their calls, thanks to caller ID.  He finally gave up about 2 months ago and said that he had tried hard and I was obviously uninterested (via a voice mail he left for me).  The calls have begun once again, this time with a new rep, a woman this time, whose name I didn't catch before I deleted the voice mail.

Once you buy, they keep hounding you for more.  Why don't they understand that if we want to order from them, then we will?

the calls still continue.  Now they have a "Senior Account Manager" calling me named Ryan Cronan.  I don't see how I have an account manager when I have no account with them.  This guy is about the 5th person to call me, if you count Chet Dupont and the woman listed above from my last post.  I am tired of this.  Now they are sending me email as well.

    love the horrible script reading
It is comical the low quality of people they have cold calling for them.  You would think that they would practice the script more so it would sound somewhat natural.  It is starting to get annoying.  They would be better off just having an automated dialer call for them and just leave a recorded message...they must be the next step because it sounds like they are already scraping the bottom of the barrel of applicants.

    Cold Calling

I always find it comical when people get up on their high horse about cold calling...

You would think it would be enough to simply attack the system (Lord knows when you a cold call at the wrong time it can be frustrating,) but its a completely different matter when you decide to ctiticize the person on the other end. THIS IS THEIR JOB. If you have ever cold called before you would understand how difficult it is. You would also understand how the people you are calling lose all sense of decorum and treat you like a piece of dirt.

The reality of the situation? Most people know when they are getting cold called, and pick up anyway. Why? Because their insecurities and string of bad days have brought them to the point where they can feel like a better person to reem out someone they dont know and will never have to face.

    Solid effort, folks. Really....

What's even more hilarious is when cold-calling scumbags like you find it necessary to come on this site to vent your frustration about how HONEST people treat DISHONEST people like you.  Cold calling is dead, too many scams, anybody who assumes that a cold call is a SCAM is right more than 90% of the time these days. So you get what you deserve, either you're too ignorant to understand that the world has changed, or you are running a SCAM. Either way when you get reamed (or "reemed" LOL) you get almost what you deserve -- I say "almost" because unfortunately we can't reach through the phone an throttle you by the neck, that's what you REALLY deserve.

But we appreciate you letting us know that this site is working and cutting into your "business". Solid effort indeed :)

Ha-ha wow, struck a nerve huh. Must have come fairly close to home with that analysis.

To step back for a moment, I am failing to understand why cold calling is labeled as "dishonest." Cold calling or prospecting is simply an attempt to establish a business relationship that had either been stopped in the past or never existed. You may find it annoying, or a waste of your time to handle one of these calls, but to question it's integrity seems to be based on emotion rather than logic. I have cold called, I have listened to cold calls, and I haven't found dishonesty to be the play, because if it is, the customer will sniff it out and not work with you.

Moreover, if cold calling did not work, it would not be a required responsibility of every sales person in a call center. I have worked for some extremely well-respected companies, and their go-to-business model is cold calling on the front lines. In fact, many companies hire oustide telemarketing companies to generate leads for that very purpose.

Again, while I can appreciate your frustration with the method, to label it as outdated and a scam is a result of one of two things:
First: Plain ignorance of the marketplace
Or Second: Your site and/or pride is at stake when attempting to vilify the method.

My guess is the latter. It sounds as if you have a personal stake in this site, in which case, I can understand the motivation behind your violent tone toward a completley beneviolent method.

Lastly, I am fairly certain that your website has not made a dent in the application of cold calling. I suppose my reasoning would be grounded in the thought of whether or not I would trust your judgement, or the judgement of savy executives who make millons of dollars coming up with methods that take elements into account like probablility, industry standards, and past accomplishment.

I hope this helps to clear up any confusion, and have a good day!

couldn't agree with you more about silence.  Hey, every second you spend on here is one less second your hounding someone who would otherwise be reaming you LOL.

OK, your turn ... last word?
