l got a call from these people - didn't answer because of the strange number - the call came into an OTTAWA, Ont. number.

Why can't somebody find out how to stop these type of calls.

I'm sick and tired of this....please, someone, anyone, invent a piece of software that will answer the phone and hang-up on these people without me having to touch the phone!!!

They use VOIP software which can display a fake or inactive phone number.  The phone companies here should come up with a counter-software that blocks fake or inactive phone numbers from dialing out.

    Here you go.....

this will be the last time this # will ring my phones.... I set the telemarketer bouncer to reject this # (just like all the rest I have set to reject)... that is to say... all future calls from this # will be picked up and hung-up immediately, without a single phone in the house ringing.... revenge of this type is so sweet it makes me feel like telling them bring on all the calls they want.... wait a minute... I do....hehel!!!

Consider buying a little box that is called the bouncer... I've had one since the late 1990's and I see they're still being sold.

You hook it into your incoming phone line... then program it to one of several different settings to intercept your (now blocked) calls to get rid of them. I have an extra answering m/c (second one) hooked to mine that leaves them a message inviting them to keep calling, as no phones will ring in my house.... and yet having the (second) answering m/c set to intercept wasting their dime! The bouncer, is made in the U.S..... and I think there are other products just like this one if you try to Google for them! I come to this site to make sure the numbers I have programmed to bounce are not legitimate calls that I want to receive.
I have no affiliation with this product and besides I live in Canada... so I'm saying buy at your own risk.... I offer this info as I'm happy with mine!

BTW... I have probably more than 120 #'s programmed in mine.... good bye to those idiots!!!

    Fraud Alert
This is a fraud campaign currently active in Canada using a series of VOIP numbers.  The objective is to obtain your credit card number and drain your account.

If you attempt to "opt out" your number will be confirmed as live and added to a suckers list for repeated future calls.
