Got an automated voice saying it was a call to confirm a doctor’s appointment (with a new doctor).  Gave date, time and address.  Such poor quality, I could barely understand it.

Me too but the automated voice read out my name. The call display showed "Dr Appointment". I hung up anyway as I had no upcoming medical appointments. Happened on Fri, Jan 5, 2024.

The automated voice read out my name. The call display showed "Dr Appointment". I answered thinking it was my new specialist appointment, so i pressed 1 then i hung up very quick and continued with my busy day. Happened on Wed 24, 2024 @ 11:25am.

Dr. Appointment...604 558 5089 this number called 2X on May 30th. Didn't leave any message. Wasn't expecting any call from a doc's clinic. Scam!

Had calls from this number twice today. Similar to what others reported, call display said, 'Dr Appointment' — no message was left.

I have a missed call from “Dr. Appointment”, today July 5th, 2024 at 3:45pm exactly the same time I will have another day!!!
I am happy I missed the call…

Scam

I got this call on Sunday (August 4 2024)  say Doctor's appointment, even with my specialist name. it called twice, I can not return the call. I do not think my Dr. office will call me on Sunday to book appointment. so it must be a scam call of some kind.

it is very strange, since the auto caller gave out my specialist name and date of the appointment, I called my specialist office today, August 6, the office confirmed that indeed there is this appointment, when I ask what this number 604 558 5089 is? the receptionist did not know this number, she simply said " Don't worry, since you called this office, you are OK"
but I still do not know how this auto call was generated.  Is this 604 558 5089 is a number used by the Doctors to book the appointment with their patients?

Many doctors use messaging services and a receptionist might not be familiar with the number used by that service. You did the right thing by calling and confirming with the doctor's office.

So what you are saying is you had the right person to ask that question on the phone, but decided strangers on a phone lookup site would be a better way to find out?

Most likely because you had made the appointment and it was entered and generated a text message or a call telling you that the appointment was scheduled.
