- Diana| 1 replyThis is the Credit Bureau of Canada Collections. Do not be fooled, when they call for someone they drop the "Collections" to make you believe that they are actually calling from the Canadian Credit Bureau. They are just a collection agency. Number may come up as 000-0000 on your call display.
- Caller: Canadian Credit Bureau of Collections

- AgentK replies to DianaThank-You for the review, thats exactly what happened to me, they claimed to directly be the "Credit Bureau of Canada".
- Ryan| 1 replyYa I have receiving calls twice a day now and rude people on the other end. Threatening that I need to put 10,634.14 in a random account. And they asked how much money i had in my bank account. Can collections ask that kind of questions??
- Caller: Canadian Collections

- Who Cares replies to RyanRandy, these people can ask you any question(s) they wish. It is up to you upon how you choose to answer them. You do not have to give them any details or information. The less you tell them, the less they know your business. If they threaten you in any way, just tell them to go ahead. They are just bullies, hiding in an office behind a telephone.
- Bob JohnsonReceived a few calls from these folks looking for someone I do not know.
Conversation goes like:
Me: "Hello"
him: "Hello is this so and so?"
me: "no, you have the wrong number"
him: "do you know so and so at all?"
me: "nope, does not sound familiar at all"
Him: "sigh, CLICK! phone hangs"
How rude!- Caller: Credit Bureau of Canada Collections

- James| 2 repliesThey call about 8 times a day on my company cell phone wanting me to pay for a cell phone bill. They have no information or details of the account just tell me I have to pay it. It is obviously not my debt as my phone is on a company plan with about 13 others that the company pays for. They are very rude and threatening. I told them to stop calling and go ahead with any action they wish as it is not by debt and I will be damned if I am going to pay it.
Again, they do claim to be with the Credit Bureau of Canada. No mention of a collection agency. If they are actually a branch of the Credit Bureau, this should be a breach of trust as they are getting more information than any collector would be legally entitled to. If they are not, they should be shut down for illegal and unethical business practices outside of the normal shady crap they get away with. Further, I will be filing a complaint with the Attorney general in BC as they are regulated in this province but feel the BC laws and regulations do not apply to them as they are based in Ontario. Guess again. Will Keep you posted on that aspect.
Then they hang up and call back three times from that number and then try calling back from 778-330-2270- Caller: Credit Bureau of Canada Collections

- RobbyVoicemail is so cool!
Cheaper than star 69 too depending on if you get a lot of these Calls which I don't btw..
Asking how much money is in your bank Account is none of their Business.
I've never had one get rude with me but, I don't doubt for a second that htye in fact do this. Had one ask my young Daughter ( she was only 10 at the time) what she thought about having money owing Bums for Parents. That was out of line obviously but, not unusual for these People. I often wonder how they recruit for that Job. Something like ' do you still sleep well at Night even tho you just destroyed a Family that wasn't even the One you were looking for? Come work for Us. We don't pay well but, the Perks are very rewarding AND satisfying'!!- Caller: not sure the woman said "Credit Bureau of Canada".

- midwaygreenI just recieved a call from them yesterday there was a lady asking for me by my previous last name or my married name and she let me know she was from yada yada collection agency thats all I heard when my blood boiled. she said I didn't pay an ornge account from Kelowna and she gave the address from the KGH
which is the hospital. I used to live there yes however I have lived in Ontario for the past 4 years lived in Kelowna 20 years ago. she said that well this is you we are looking for and so I said what is my social insurance number and she said she didn't have that info. red flag ..... what person who is looking into you financailly doesn't have that info. I asked for the date of the said infraction and she couldn't give that to me as she said that was private info that she was not allowed to know. more red flags why are you collecting for something you nothing about?? so I started yelling she told me not to yell at her because she was just letting me know then she told me to call tran union or equifax this is the credit beuro and so I did and found out that these people had done a credit check on me with out my permission or knowledge. the credit Beauro has flagged them on my account and I am now on a watch for the next 6 years. I am urging any of you who have recieved a call from them if this is not something you have done call these places and talk to the fraud place and ask them to look at your files because you have suspision of fraud if they have done a credit check on you you need to let the bearo know you didn't allow this or have knowledge of this. this is the only way we can get this to be stopped if they call me again I was instructed to say I have called the credit beauro and I taken care of all that I need to. this is my only advice to you. other then the less they know about you the better don't give them any true facts they don't need to know anything- Call type: Debt collector
- midwaygreen replies to Jamescal thecredit bearuo and make sure they didn't do a credit check on you without your permission that is what happened to me
- Johnny Be-BadI live in Saskatchewan... So I have a (306) area code.
Lady called me just now asking for a Mr Trung
I advised her that I've had this number for quite a few years, and I am not Mr Trung.
She said that this was the number that 'he' gave them.. advised her not and if I should be worried about identity theft? She just asked me more questions and then disconnected.- Caller: Canada Revenue agency

- Tanja| 1 replyHad [***] call me today on cell phone - left a long 20 minute intimidating and very threatening message. 5 minutes later called my job - I answered told him I wasnt there, he demanded I give him my name - I said no, he said I have to etc etc. I hung up. He called back and left message for "owner of company" saying he would like to file a report about an employee that was rude to him and also the information about payroll. UGH. How do I stop this guy, Ive already informed him I am not allowed to have calls at work and he keeps calling

- myself| 1 replyI had a pleasant conversation with a guy there on Friday and I made arrangements to call him again Monday. Over the weekend we had a death in the family (not a lie! we really did!!) so I didn't call him Monday. He left me a message Monday evening and then called again on Tuesday morning at 8am and left a threatening message "avoiding this will not make it go away" yada yada. I called him back and tried to explain why I hadn't called him to which he interrupted me saying "don't give me that crap!" and I lost it. I started screaming at him (I'm sorry but I was in mourning and he calls me a liar!) and he laughed!! I hung up, calmed myself a bit and called in again. He answered, I asked for his supervisor "hahaha! sure but do you know we record all our phone calls?" so the supervisor comes on and I tearfully tell him my story to which he says "I don't care. That other guy had every reason to go off on you. We need money NOW." I can't pay them now, I can pay them a bit starting next month but they wouldn't hear it! I hung up on him.
I get to work and the first guy calls my work! I recognize the # so I disguise my voice and say I'm not here. He asks when I'll be back and I say "I'm not too sure as she's dealing with a family issue." (I really am dealing with it but I have to work as my coworker is in the hospital).
I finally looked into the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act for BC.... if I ask them to stop calling and to contact me via mail only, they have to. So that's what I'm going to do.
I understand they get every excuse in the book but not everyone is dishonest!- Caller: Credit Bureau of Canada Collections

- Elspeth replies to myselfNo, they have NO RIGHT to abuse and harass people like this! I do hope that you have made them MAIL you a debt validation letter - any Tom, Dick or Harry could call and say that you owe them. Please make sure to verify that you do, indeed, owe them any money. I would also call the original owner of the debt they are claiming you owe just to make sure that they have turned it over to them for collection. From what you are saying, though, everything is screaming "scammers"!
- DI had this number call me this evening. The woman on the other end claimed to be calling from the hospital with a family emergency... they are calling me claiming to have my next of kin in the hospital. I phoned the hospital hoping it wasn't my son in an accident or something and the hospital has no record of having called me.
I think it is terrible these people call and claim there is an emergency at the hospital when there isn't.
I don't have a credit problem or issues so why are these horrible people calling me? That was a terrible, terrible thing to do.- Caller: Credit Bureau of Canada Collections
- Concerned replies to TanjaWhen you speak with them next ask for their fax number. Then send them a fax with your supposed "case number" and write "You do not have permission to contact me at my place of employment, nor do you have permission to contact my employer directly."
If you send that in writing, and keep the sent confirmation you can file for harassment if they continue doing that. - Confused?Got a call earlier, the man didn't identify himself, he said he's looking for this person who lives in this apartment number, do you know her?
I do know who she is, but I don't know how to get ahold of her sorry.
After I hung up it dawnd on me, why is he calling my number? Who is he? How does he know my number, or where I live!? Asking if there is an apartment manager that can get ahold of her. ? - Bob| 1 replyThese people are unbelievable. Called me, called my neighbour, called my employer, calls my previous employer about an "urgent financial matter ". Then, called my bank. Fill my voicemail. I call back, no answer. Operate out of Ontario so they feel they are immune to times out west.

- RudyThis number calls and leaves messages on my phone, my work phone and my work cell about an extreme urgency call. At the end they leave a "debtor case number"
