Twice received calls about my "premium readers" account being behind. After the first year, I vaguely remember seeing a card sent in the mail to renew?! this account or something and we decided not too as it wasnt worth it for us. I thought by not responding I had effectively cancelled after the first year. We moved and had Canada post handle our mail change. My visa got scanned and scammed be somebody and so we are very careful. This is what scares me, the Caller (in a smug tone) informed me I could not & cannot cancel and then TOLD me (again with more smugness) it was a 3 year contract. I dont recall signing up for anything for 3 years. I asked for some proof, like the contract and my signature etc. The caller said I didnt have to sign a contract for it to be binding, that doesnt seem right to me,. Instead of trying to provide me with  supporting info, the caller then rudely accused me of trying to intimidate and that I didnt want to pay. It felt like the caller was trying to bully me into paying for something I dont recall agreeing to... are these people ligit?

Left a message asking for someone with a name other than myself. The caller also mentioned "premier readers" account who ever they might be. I never answer long distance calls, if someone wants me they can state  their name and business and if I know them I will return the call. Long distance Calls showing up on the caller ID without a name attached should always be viewed with suspicion.
