607-203-5589   keeps calling wrong number every day

He is a hacker hunting for your CP.

Calls keep coming from this unknown person / number asking for me by first name only and never leaving a message.  Annoying calls; unwanted.  I hope this telemarketer finds a real job soon.  

Doesn't get the hint that I do not want to answer/talk. Keeps calling and left a voicemail only saying my name. Blocking the number.

Never answered but have 7 calls over the course of a few days

This person called me saying they were from the national police association something or another and asked for my husband by name. When I said he was home and asked who they were they said they needed my credit card number to make a donation to them of $15. I refused of course not knowing who they were exactly and whether or not it was a scam.

We were called yesterday by this number and of course they hung up. We keep a record of these types of numbers and this is the first time we've received a call from this number.  We'll continue to see if this number calls so we can report it. We are on the DNC register but as I've said numerous times before, there is no point on being on this list because it serves no purpose. You still get unwanted calls.

They called at 8:30  Saturday Morning claiming to collect monies for police officers for bullet proof vests Number was 607-203-5589.
I was so angry that i forgot to ask for the name of agency.

This is the second time we've gotten a call from this number, and of course they hung up. Our first call came on Fri 11/28/2014. They called today at 6:10PM right at dinner time. Once again, no point on being on the DNC register because they fail to do anything.

Put the blame where it really lay's, with the criminals and illegal telemarketers.
The DNC works just fine. It is for telemarketers only and honest business does indeed abide by it. It is the criminals (which includes illegal telemarketers), frauds and scammers that do not. However, the Fed. DNC does not cover some survey's, Political or Charities.  You would need to check your states DNC laws to see if these are under your states DNC laws.  The fact remains that they are not automatic call blockers though and can not protect you from the calls that are criminal, illegal or fraudulent.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone..  You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

607-203-5589 called our home Sunday night Nov 30 at 810pm est. The man had southern accent and wanted us to donate to Fraternal order of Police. We declined - we only donate to local police at the station.

What does CP stand for?

I got a call from 607-203-5589 as well, but the caller was very professional. How can one check to see if the number calling is legitimate or not?
I wonder what call  list(s) I'm on and how my number got on the list(s)

For me the worst offender is this group that calls and says that they are from Microsoft and that my computer has a virus that they want to help me fix.
They have been calling for years and refuse to stop even though I tell them to remove my number from their list. They just hang up.

My mother had that same "virus" phone call. She called her wifi provider, Verizon, and they sent her a phone to report any info she had on them. Apparently those calls are very prevalent, and many people fall for it.

Thanks for the info Gramps. Just got another call from this number at 8:30AM today. Will look into the sites you have provided. Someone else mentioned I can call my phone provider and have them block the the number. Since this is the third time they've called and hung up will speak to my phone company.

These jokers call every day....sometimes twice a day!  All I can say is that they can call until they are blue in the face because I will NEVER pick up the phone.  What losers these people are.  Why don't they get a life and get a REAL job?

The caller- automatic message asks "Is the man or woman of the house there?
I received the same under several other telephone numbers. I do not pick up the phone, let it go to the answering machine. They leave no message. I delete the calls.

Told them he was not available and they said they were looking for either one of us. Went on to ask for donation in silver ($35.00) or gold ($45.00). then will ask if youre comfortable with that donation amount and then transfer you to someone else. I didnt stay on the phone. Just dont know if its a scam or not and dont want to chance it.
