    Didn't fool me
Got a phone call from (607) 223-5232 on my husband's cell phone today, which we don't register that number for computers. It was a man with an Indian accent saying he was calling because he got an alert about our Windows....told dude I have a MAC and asked why he was calling me. I told him I didn't appreciate his fraudulent phone call and good luck scamming the next number on his list. Also, while he was still on speaker on my husband's phone, I called his number from my cell phone and a guy with an Indian accent answered with "hello". What legit business answers with just a "hello"? It's Scam / Fraud. I had no computers on or plugged in...I was on a road trip with no connection whatsoever for computer.

Just got a call with the same m.o. about my home computer with a window operating system having been infected. I told them I had a mac and they still insisted that it is infected. These people are shameless and they seem so operate their scams without any impunity.

Tried to call back first time there was a message saying to stay on the line because my call was important. Then it hung up. I called back several times and it wouldn't even ring anymore

I have received at least 4 calls from this number, though the name of the "Microsoft Technician" differs.  How do we make these guys stop.  This is harrassment.

Missed call. Called back and he answered hello. I said I missed your call and he proceeded to say he was calling about my computer. I cursed him out after I told him I haven't owned a computer in 10 years. He hung up on me.

got a phone call from this number today. I didn't pick up and checked with this website right away. I'm glad that I didn't pick up; it would be a waste of time.

Tim, my husband went through all of the same steps and did indeed press the R. The scammers were able to put a freeze on our computer until we actually called the REAL Microsoft people. The scammers won't let you sign onto your computer unless you purchase a security product. This is a sales pitch! Don't be upset. My husband is in IT and got "scammed". These guys are selling a firewall product for computers. Don't be fooled. We too had the error messages. I think every computer does. That is where they get you. My husband didn't know anything about that and he has been in IT for over 30 years. They are good alright, GOOD SCAM ARTISTS. Have a wonderful Christmas Tim. I hope this helped a little.

We heard that it was a scam....fbi has been trying to catch them.....it was also in the newspaper....they ask if my computer was working alright too....but I had been ask before. They say they are from windows or some co & I know for a fact they wouldn't call us....we would call the co & report trouble 1st...this is a major scam to get into your computer to steal any info that they can.....They wont get it from me.....

Same thing for me too....I know the co wouldn't call us.....they are forbidden to call us 1st...I do know I saw a site on facebook to see a notice...& it was up on my screen to call a certain number...Instead I ran my trouble site & nothing was wrong with it. I know the FBI reported it as a scam last year....to newspapers in our area.
