I received a call today from a person who called herself "Angel White", of a company she called "International Credit Recovery". Angel White called me from 607-748-2539 according to my caller ID, and she wants me to pay a bill for $299.00 for what she described as a "bi-weekly newsletter" of which I never received and do not recall ever asking for. She had my birthdate and home address, and claims that I subscribed for a publication on a 30 day trial period that I did not cancel in writing during the time period required and therefore I now owe them $299.00. She did not give me any information on the publication except that it is a "OSHA Safety type of newsletter", that I did not cancel in time and more incredulously, she actually told me "They got you". She said that in order to get this out of collections I would have to pay her $299.00. I told her to give me the name of a contact with the company she is collecting for and I would have our attorneys contact them, but she would not offer any more info, other than she is the only person I can talk to and she is assigned to collect this debt. She gave her contact number as 607-748-4686. I told her that she would have to speak to our attorneys, and she said that she will not deal with attorneys, only me. I argued with her for some time, until I saw that there would be no end, so I hung up. I googled the 607-748-4686 phone number and found numerous complaints exactly like mine, and I fear that this may be a scam occuring within New York that you should be aware of.  After reading similar  postings regarding the call-back number, I believe that the company which initiated this is called "Progressive Business Publications".  Beware!  They must have some sort of fraudulent or misleading trick to get your information, probably from one of the many innocent looking "free" ads or surveys that we are bombarded with everyday, and then they attempt to swindle you.

I just got a call from this number claiming I subscribed to some publication and didn't pay.  She said I owe $299.  She was very aggressive and threatened to report my company for non payment.  I told her to go ahead.  Beware.  This is some kind of scam.

Just got a call from them also.  She knew my birthday etc.  No one in this office has ordered their stupid expensive flyer.   We knew right off it was a scam or as we talked just a scare tactic.  She said she would fax invoice (bet she does).  They can bring it on, we will contact our attorney in a heart beat.   They keep sending this crap without APPROVAL, then they want $299.00 for a stupid flyer.  The so called notice we received in April 2011 (yes this has been going on for years), states "This is not an invoice.  If you take no action you (idiots can't even spell, should of been your) trial subscription will expire, so mail your form today!  I ran off a copy of this one and mailed back with all their crap in it I put a note on it that read "Remove our name & phone # from your list!!"  Then where it had our company name and address, I circled it and put "REMOVE!!!"  Them morons don't take no for an answer.  Everytime we receive their so called safty alert whatever, we throw it in the trash.  The only reason I kept the one from April 2011 I kept for proof.  PROGRESSIVE BUSINESS PUBLICATIONS - K.M.A.

To let all know, all the #’s below are associated with them.  Believe me, I probably am on their bad list after getting another call today.  These are all #’s I have, which have showed up on our caller id etc.  Have done a lot of research and reading other comments on them.  DON’T LET THEM GET TO YOU.

Same story as everyone else. Have been receiving a piece of junk mail (OSHA blah blah blah) for about six years. They send me fake collections letters occasionally. I throw them away because I never ordered their newsletter. The newsletter itself is very poor-quality, and is merely a reprint of information contained in public-domain articles available on the world wide web. What is amazing is how they claim their newsletter contains information that is not obtainable from any other source. Also, the price is ridiculous, 299 bucks.
I was contacted by the debt collector named Kathy. Since I never ordered the product, I told her that the account was not really in collections, and that she was working a scam. Her response was that she did not want to go in circles with me. She also said she did not want to play games with me. I asked her if she was going to kill me. Her response was that she had proof that I had ordered the documents. I asked her what proof did she have of me ordering a document. She told me that she had my birthday. She asked me if my birthday was ##/##, and I told her I was uncomfortable with the phone call. I guess they are going to sue me or something.

BRING IT ON.

This is the second call saying the same thing, that I agreed to a free trial, but did not cancel.  So when is something Free become an invoice.........if you do not cancel..........even the cable outfits let you know that HBO is free for 90 days, but say in writing that you have to call and cancel.......I saw nothing about calling to cancel and will keep these posts as evidence that they are in NY and worked for Bernard Madoff plan of stealing from nice people on the phone.
