- EmmaSame story!!!! The guy on the phone asked for ex-employee from our company, and he said that employee signed up for the online listing. He can only remove our company from the list after I agree to pay $829 invoice from 2011. He threats me that if we are going to fight for this invoice, his company will win for sure.
SCAM!!!!!!!!! - Elspeth replies to salActually, no, they can't report you to the credit bureau - this is an attempt to extort money from people. Also, even if he claims you have a "verbal" contract, that would not stand up in court. The guy is a scammer. Report the call to the FTC and your state's Attorney General.
- FedUpReceived calls from this moron in the past. Says his name is "Cody". Caller ID has this number and "unknown". Almost whispered and I had to keep asking him to repeat himself. Wanted to speak with the business owner (whom he addressed by his first name like he knew him) and when I asked what it was regarding, he said "the closing of his account". I asked "does he have a current account with you and what is the name of it?" Then he said, I just want to inform him we are closing his account... well if he's not available, I can call back. I said that he wouldn't take call anyway later on if he doesn't have some basic info about caller, company, etc. Long pause and then hang up.
- JackiRude man, mumbled something about calling to close. I said, close on what? He stated to close on NBA or MBA ?????? Not sure. So I asked again what was the reason of ethics call to my business. He responded as thought I was mentally deficient.... I.... Said.... I'm....calling... To...., you get the idea. I interrupted his childish behavior, and told him, not to talk to me like I'm an idiot unable to determine if I do business with his company, I was not currently conducting business with his company and therefor had nothing to close on. He responded with... Are you sure? I hung up.

- NikitaJust got the same story everyone above got. Person state his name as John Gonzales, told me that my company had listing with them since 2012 and that it was "complimentary" and now he is calling to find out if I am going to renew it for over $800 per 2 years. He stated that his call is to CLOSE account unless I want to keep going. I said - whatever it is, I want it closed, not-renewed, etc...he said I have to talk with Determination department..and he connected me with them. "Determination" department's guy said ...'we are confirming your !!!!! I N V O I C E !!!! and...bla bla...and I said...what are you talking about, what Invoice?? He said, you have to pay $800 something invoice or we will put you in Collection and you will be paying anyway.
I said I don’t use your services whatever it is, I have no knowledge of ever signing up for anything with you and end of conversation. And I hang up.
Please, if we have some lawyers in our community - can you PLEASE stop these rude scammers? It so much interferes with our lives, our businesses...it is just RIDICULOUS.- Caller: National Business Advertising
- DSJust got a call from this number - brought up Beach Haven, NJ on the caller id. I work for a small business, they asked for the owner by his last name only - the guy had a very heavy accent. I told him the owner was on the phone - which he wasn't, but this guy didn't identify himself, that's just one way I weed out scams - if it's legit, they will leave a message. He proceeded to ask "how long on phone" I told him I had no clue how long he would be - which I really don't. Then he asked if he could hold and I said that or I could take a message, he sat there for a good 10-15 seconds silent then gave a smartass laugh and hung up on me. Do these folks honestly think just because some of us answer phones for a living that we have an IQ of a brick?

- Kate replies to KimberlyJust got the same call everyone else is getting but he asked specifically for me, when I replied this is she. He hung up. Same voicemail when you return the call and no room for message. Ext 111 mailbox is full
- AngelI receive the same phone calls about the same time every year from this number. Once I tell them off, they don't call back for a while. Wants to proceed with a voice recording to cancel my advertising as I requested. Beat around the bush when I asked what company she was calling from. Finally told me she "the yellow pages" online. I would be billed for my services of over $500 once cancelled. I didn't even ask to speak to a manager this time. Just refused to acknowledge that I wanted their services in the first place, and hung up. A couple of years ago, I asked to speak to the manager, they refused, so I let them connect me with someone who would record the conversation, and flat told them I didn't request any services, Didn't want them and would not state that I wanted them cancelled, because I never requested them in the first place. She got rude with me, and said that's not what she needed recorded and refused to deal with me. Would like to see these places removed so they don't scam someone else.
- NickFLToday at about 3 pm received the same call that everyone else did. It was from this New Jersey phone number, from a man with a strong Indian, possible Guyanese accent, threatening to "cut off service" if I did not pay $829 for one year of advertising that I "owed" them, and reminding me that I had already received a free year of "advertising" already!! I could scarcely contain my laughter. He got mad at me for laughing at him and hung up on me when I asked him if I was going to be on the Y100 Elvis' Morning radio show this week or next week!! The sad thing is that there are probably a few people out there who will be intimidated into paying $829 for this non-existent service and alas, falling victim to their scam. Whom can we report this to? The FBI??

- AprilThe same exact thing happened to me today. Someone named Lora Davis stated that my acct was going to be closed at midnight tonight and i needed to pay 829.99. I opted for them to mail me an invoice so i could look into it further. Upon investigation, i discovered it was false, so when i called back to complain and clearly state that we will not be paying that bill, they put me in touch with someone named Daniel Lewis. We had a screaming match and that was that. a total scam!

- PaulJust got a call from these people for the 4th year in a row. This time they told me that they had to send me my finally bill. She stated her name was Lora Davis and she would be sending out a bill for the yellow pages. I told her that we never had service with them and I deal with AT & T yellow pages. She got mad and hung up, they will never get a dime from me, I don't care how many numbers they call me from
- RameyI am agreeing with EVERY person that has commented about this number! VERY rude, no customer service. Demanded to talk to my boss, he was not here. Called back a few hours later, asking for my boss, I said AGAIN he's not here, and she just put me on hold.
Back to the first time she called (by the way "she" is LORA DAVIS-VERY RUDE), Lora said she was with Yellow Pages Business something to do with Google AND Twitter and told me that we owed $589.00 to cancel this subscription and she was going to fax me the invoice. She then told me that I would be given a confirmation closing #....never got it. Was put on hold, ended up hanging up.- Caller: Yellow Pages Business ???
- OphirThe caller identified herself as Susan James, from a company called BRegistry. She was going to give me a code to close an account I had with them and to collect a balance of $800. When I explained to her I never ordered any service from her company or paid for any service she became combative and rude, and demanded payment or the service will renew. Realizing this was a hoax, I hung up the phone. They called again 3 more times, living no messages

- AngrySquirrelComputersJust received a call from "National Business Registry" from 609-207-7539. As from a lot of other comments, a woman stated that "our" two year contract was ending and tried to give me a confirmation number. I stated ending for what? I never signed up with you or anything like that. She continued to try and push a confirmation number and I stated "well as long as I don't have to pay for anything" hook knowing full well it was a scam. She then stated, "Oh of course you have to pay, you were in a two year contract". Know what I said? "OK, I know this is a scam and I know that I never signed up for anything like that" and promptly hung up on her. Be VERY VIGILANT people and never fall for these types of tactics.
