9/09 10:35  Another no ID and registered on voicemail, but no message.  This getting monotonous, every day multiple calls from all kinds of numbers from various states no ID and no message.  Why do they bother?

Oh, I did the same thing.  And I so regret it, as I'm getting so many calls as well.  I put them in a contact I named "spam" and set it up so my phone puts it directly to voice mail and I don't even hear it ring.

Caller said he was calling in response to my request to further my education.  I said I never requested that.  He asked if i wanted to further my education.  I said no.  Please take me of your calling list.  Then I hung up.

I did the same thing that someone else did. I called the number back, and pressed 2. I am apparently off of their list. It was the same "company" as the other person. Academic something or another. I suggest doing that.

Part of harassment tactic a disgruntle collection company uses when you avoid paying them (they buy your debt from title loan companies and other scam places from these type) so if the dont scare you by threating you with the "lawsuit they said they filed" they go all out by selling your contact info. My advise is get an app to record calls and as soon as you answer say you will be recording the call, then if you can get them to threaten you, well you can sue because they are regulations and they can discuse with wrong person, make threats, or etc.. for more info lookup harrassment and debt collectors.

I got a call from them this morning and didn't answer, but reading all the other posts its clear what it is.  I am unemployed and have been applying for dozens of jobs and I've come across some questionable 'applications' that I have put my info into.  If you ever click on a box that says you are interested in continuing your education...get ready for calls from people like this.  I get at least 4 calls a day from different numbers for same thing.  It gets them around the 'telemarketer' laws because 'I showed an interest' in what they are selling by clicking that freakin' box.

Check out youmail.com. & their app for smart phones, they work together , & it's free. But part of their upgraded service allows you to have a "direct to voice mail" phone #. This is great for signing up for things on line or your credit card companies/affiliates that call trying to sell you something because "they have a relationship with you". Your phone never rings! You get notified there was a missed call & if they left a message, you can listen to it & decide if you want to call them back & when. If they didn't leave a message, it wasn't important anyway & the call never interupted what you were doing. It puts you back in control!
