They keep calling before 10 am and then again around 7 pm.  This has been going on for weeks.  They never leave a message. they also call from 610-916-7301 & 800-220-2800.  I will not answer calls from a number I dont know.

Just received call from 610-916-7261. Was a recording asking for someone in my household. I pressed #1 like I was the person. I told them who I was and the lady "Nicki" said that she was from Berks Credit & Collections in Temple PA. She said that there was a $64.00 balance on a DR's visit from Sept. 2007. She wanted me to pay over phone (I refused) she gave me a PO Box 329 Temple, PA 19560 to send in payment or go to www.ezpaynow.com and pay online! I asked her if she had an account # and she gave me one.

This number calls multiple times every day.  They never leave a msg, just hang up.  When we do answer they hang up on us.  They are one of 3 numbers that keep calling and hanging up.  I am also listed on the do not call list for my state.  These numbers will be reported.  Calls today 1/15/08 9:28pm on 1/14 9:28am & 6/28:pm

I just recieved a call from this number, it started as an automated message saying that if i was who they were calling for press 1, and if i needed a min to get that person press 2. Since they were calling for me i pressed 1. She asked who i was and i asked her to identify herself. She refused until i did and i told her i would not until she did since she is the one calling me. Thats when she got rude and said "fine then ill just keep calling back, wasting your time and mine." And then proceeded to hang up on me.

I have had this number call my home 3-4 times a day for the past few months they never leave a message and will not state who they are calling for until I give them a name... so I gave them my married name and she tried telling me that i owed 64,000 dollars in back medical bill in pa but wouldn't tell me for what or from what doctor. Then yelled at me about how i need to pay the bill by credit card over the phone. Once I refused she said that she would continue calling until I paid. Now no madder who answers they hang up and call back a few mins later~!!! something needs to be  DONE about this.

Good investigation.  I received a notice in the mail from this company stating that I owe on medical bills from St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington,DE.  You would think that they would leave a message.  I also have these annoying calls from two other sources at all hours of the night and I have added them to my cellphone phonebook as "BAD CALLER".  When "BAD CALLER" comes up, I do not answer.

I keep getting calls from them on my cell phone which is under my fiancees name. The calls are for the number's previous owner who died 2 years ago. They wouldn't identify themselves when I called to find out who they were and they accused me of lying to them about not being the girl they were looking for. They claim that they took the number out of the system, but this isnt the first time. Some of these places hope that if they harrass you enough you will pay even if the debt is invaild or not even yours. However the gentleman with the fair collection rules is right, and complaining really does get them off your back. But thanks for the information on who they are, because if they keep harrassing me I do have some recourse now. They don't want to say who they are because they know what they are doing is illegal.

If it is Omni Financial, they will never stop calling, never mind the DNC list. They have hundreds of telemarketers who are all given the same leads.

Burk's Debt Collectors are calling my number looking for a person that had this number over five years ago. When the calls started I patiently and respectfully explained that we were assigned this number in December of 2003. We have many calls for the person they asked for so I gave them our name and explained that we were aware that this number was once assigned to their client but we have had it for five years.I have even explained ethnicity. We are Caucasian. Most people can detect the difference by speech dialect. Their client is Afro-American The calls have continued  with two calls a day at various hours. My sister is dealing with terminal cancer and I am the primary caregiver. If she needs me I get to her. As a result I sleep whenever I can. Today They awakened me two times within twenty minutes. A male voice used the terms Why don't you grow up"  "Why don't you stop playing games?" He used two different  terms of profane  language.

This company did not call me, they just charged my checking account X number of dollars.  When I called the number listed on my checking statement, I got a recording that it was a debt collection agency.  Since I owe no debts, haven't got anything in the mail or a phone call, I thought ut-oh.  Called them, got a recording, left a message, no call back.  Called again, same thing.  Bank is charging back the money into my account, cancelling my debit card and I am going to press any and all charges I can for unauthorized use of my personal debit card.  I will NOT let them get away with this.

yeah they just called me again and its 8:40 in the morning. 610 is a PA area code around the bethlehem, allentown area.

This is a collection agency that works with a lot of medical billing companies who have sent their patient bills collected.  They don't identify themselves unless you tell them who you are, which is nuts.

Because they are collecting, they cannot be referred to the do not call list.

It's Burks/Berks (not sure how it's spelled) collection agency. I used to live in a 610 area code and have answered the phone more then once thinking someone changed their phone number or something along those lines. They most typically call late morning.

To answer some folks about how they're getting calls from PA when they live in other areas. Collection agencies do not have to be in the same area or even state as you are. If that's who whatever company decides to use, that's who they use regardless of what area/state you live in .

i just got this number and they are calling me on my mobile phone and wasting my minutes. they are horrible. i would love to block their number. my only other alternative now is to change my number. i think they have a machine call

And gave them my info. It IS legitimate, believe it or not. For me, it was a balance I had on a doctor's bill (real doctor of mine, real bill). I guess I overlooked it.

They never once had left a message but they do claim that they sent a letter (which I don't recall seeing).

The people I spoke to were actually nice - unusual for a collections agency - and I was able to set up a payment by check, post-dated.

Believe it not, it's good to get collections payments off your back. I feel better already! (And trust me, I am collections queen over here)

These people are calling my phone looking for someone I used to know. This person went to the hospital & gave my cell phone as his phone number. I have told these people numerous times to stop calling my phone. They say that they will remove my number but never do.

CALL SEVERAL TIMES A DAY AND EVENING. HANG UP AND DON'T LEAVE MESSAGE ON VOICEMAIL

Automated caller asked for my ex-husband, who doesn't live here, and, when I accepted the call by pushing 1, a man got on the phone and asked for my ex-husband again. When I asked, "Who's calling please?" he hung up on me.
