She claimed United Health Care and wanted to go over my plan, think NOT UHC.  Said no and hung up.

My phone warned me an incoming call may possibly be fraud. I answered just to see. When I answered, a ring tone started to play (as if I was dialing someone myself, not an incoming call to me). They said hello and I asked "who is this?". The lady said she was calling from United Health Care insurance through Medicaid and asked to speak with (my name). I said "This is them". She then proceeded to ask for my birthdate. I was googling the number on my screen and it came up as a scam number, so I did not provide my birthdate or any further information and hung up the phone.

The scary part was that I had called my state's Medicaid office yesterday and had to leave a message to try to get a callback. So, at first, I was very inclined to give her my info and get some answers to questions I needed help with regarding my Medicaid. But the "Potential Fraud" marker on my phone prompted me to research the number and see that others have experienced this type of call as well.

They called my phone pretending to be United Healthcare through Medicaid. I think not! Be aware of these fraudulent people trying to steal your identity!

First thing as I just woke up, the 612-866-3442 showed up on my phone screen still on the line. I searched the number and it was noted as a scam. Friends, the perpetrator was the customer agent of UHC  posing as UHC help line. There are few numbers there, and my mistake was giving them my phone number of course, my birthdate, address, and so on in order to identify me when calling the UHC. Those numbers showing as help lines were the culprit, I suspected. Beware of UHC phone lines as these phones and the company UHC is selling or is involved in various anomalies with a dark web of scammers.

Got a call from this number claiming to be United Healthcare wanting confirmation of my Medicaid info. Told them that I didn't trust them due to me Caller ID knocked out. Google'd the number..sure enough, a rococall from St.  Paul, MN! Be warned...

I came here to find out who could possibly be calling before 9AM. I'm glad I did. Call came in as Suspected Spam from Minnesota.

Well, first of all the call came through as potential spam. When I answered the phone, I didn’t say anything and it sounded like the line just made this buzzing noise and then she started talking again asking for the parents of my daughter. I said I’m proceeding with this call with caution because your number is reported as potential spam…she seemed to know everything about me already and I didn’t give her any other info before searching this number and hanging up…is this a scam call ?

Received call this morning. Caller stated they were United Health Care. They asked for birth date at which point I stated that I don't give our information over the phone, only receive it. The caller then proceeded to reread her script  when I hung up.  Caller ID does give the number listed as UHC but only call out.

Call back to this number gets "The United Healthcare outbound only line.  Please call the number on your membership card."

It is actually United Health Care, not a scam, but really annoying as they call all the time with their supposed valuable information that will help you make the most of your insurance. And it’s not always the same number calling. I ignore the calls. If I want something I’ll call them.
