Do not give to organization that cold calls you like that -  they are a rip off and give the police and fire folks a bad name - let alone only giving very little $$ to the cause they are collecting for. Find a local charity to give to if you have too much money. By giving local you can see your donation in action.

Who in who-knows-where is this?  I never answer it..they call on my cell phone as well as my landline.  Good thing I have caller-ID!

Called my cell phone. Caller ID said, "Westerville, OH. Did not answer and no voicemail was left. Must have been extremely important.

Caller left no message. I did not answer.

They call using a machine and asking for a ny name. If you respond with something unrealistic, you'll realize it's a recording or a robot that's programmed to responds "logically" to your answers but it fails when you throw something like "I'm not wearing any socks right now!" It's a scam for sure but they think they are getting clever and creative. I usually don't answer numbers I don't recognize but every now and then, I pick up if I'm expecting a call. My rule is, if you need me, you can wait and leave me a message. No message, not important at all. I usually block my number and call back to see who it is, 99% of the time, no one answers and I get a VM telling to press this and that to be added to "don't call list". I hang up and block the number. The "do not call list" is BS.

Too bad you have no idea as to what or why the DNC was designed and put into law to cover.  Had you read and actually learned before signing up you would have not just made that post.  Instead you stopped at those three words and have remained ignorant of the facts ever since.

Called asking for money on behalf of fire fighters. First person was an automated voice then I was connected to a real Arab speaking woman. I began asking for information and quickly caught her in several lies. She then said good bye to me
