called my cell several times and I didn't answer either

It is a commenity bank credit card bill call.

they call a couple times a day-never leave a message(I dont pick up) I know it is a debt collector but the caller ID says SEARCH2CLOSE which is a real estate title Co in Ohio.Is it legal for them to do that on the caller ID?

Got a call today from, as the caller ID said, Search2Close, 614-212-7530.  Answered the phone and it turned out to be Comenity Bank.  I missed one $25.00 payment having to deal with fraudulent activity on my bank account.  The young man, David, was just as smart-mouthed as he wanted to be.  I asked for his ID number (750), and his supervisor's name (Howard).  He said that the call back number was 800-695-9478.  Hardly the number that showed up on my caller id!  I am going to call back to speak to the supervisor.  I am sure what they are doing is not legal.  Can't be.

I don't know where the money is going to come from they won't work with you with the lower payment

Got a call from 614-212-7530 showed up as Search2Close. I googled that name and it is a title and closing company for a mortgage.  I did not answer nor do I ever answer call I don't recognize and they did not leave a message.  From the looks from other posts they are spoofing their number. What a scam. Well they can go fly a kite, if you know what I mean.

They keep calling looking for someone I have never heard of who has a debt when I tell then I don't know who they are looking for but they have the wrong person, my name is not Jennifer. They insist I am lying so now they are blocked.

I don't know who this is, I do not answer. Sure like to find out who is selling my number.

I continue to get calls from them so I blocked their number using "Norobo" call. I don't answer calls if I don't know who is calling !!!!!!!

Just keep reading or writing your note, and don't let them bother you! No need to get mad.

RECEIVED PASTED 2 DAYS NOT SURE WHO THEY ARE

Have been receiving calls from them for 3 wks.They have hooked up with COMENITY.  Called the phone co & they
can't block em.  Spoofing.  Owen-Corning is another.  VA is slow at paying bills, civilian hospitals turn bills over to collection agencies.  Congressman just blows Vets off, go figer!

Sick and tired of continuous phone calls from this number with no messages, no one talks to me and they call about 20 times a day. This is ridiculous

Son of a b##@$% they need to stop calling ... I swear gosh such a pain in the butt ...keep calling but didn't leave a message well good for you keep calling I ain't pick up ur call. .... Can't believe people have jobs doing this shitz sooo annoying ....

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

***A company must be licensed in their state as well as the one they are trying to collect in if two different states are involved.

Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time,date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.
