- LH| 1 replyI have received the same text as above. Did some research and found the following:
1. The scammers are spoofing their "from" address, so this will probably change with every text they send, or almost every text.
2. The number to call them back on does NOT change. This is a pretty poor technique and means that they'll likely be tracked down and arrested fairly easily once that number is located (note, it probably does not actually dial a Nashville phone number; area codes do not necessarily designate location).
If you have received a call or a text like this, do NOT call them back, even to harrass them. Call your local police department's non-emergency number IMMEDIATELY and let them know you've been a target of a criminal data-mining operation. Give the police all the info you have; they have probably already opened a file on these schmucks and will add your information.
NOTE: Southeastern Finanacial CU (the real one) is aware of this scam and has posted a notice on their public website here: http://www.southeastfinancial.org/- Caller: Southeastern Financial CU

- DarleneThis was on Local Nashville Channel 4 news tonight. They recommended calling your local bank to make sure your accounts have not been compromised in some way and to report the calls or texts to local police.
