Called my cell phone and I was out of range so they left a message saying they had a fraudulent check that I wrote. I tried calling back, got her voice mail... last name of Davis and sounded more like a home phone greeting on her voice mail than it did a business.

I got the same call today. Received a call from a Tiffany Davis on my work phone voice mail. She said she was calling about fraudulant checks and that i could be arrested if I didn't call back. I called back and she transferred me to her boss who told me I took out a payday loan 7 years ago ( it will be 7 years on Oct 1) and i that I have been receieving letters and have not responded. He then said he was going to turn me over to the state attorney general and that they would press charges. I said I wanted to see the details of this "case". He said he would fax something over and did not. I called backk the number and this Tiffany answered again and I asked what collection agency she was calling from and she said that it was an investigative service called NCIS and that they turn over bad checks to attorney general who in turn will get you arrested. I couldn't find anything online about this 'business'. I also told her that you cannot threaten someone and she said 'ok' and hung up. I am still waiting for this to be faxed over to me. He said statue of limitations is 7 years and they were still by law within their rights to go after me since it has been 6 years and 10 months.

I received a call from a Tiffany Davis about 2:49 p.m. Thursday afternoon. She left a voicemail stating that I committed check fraud and either me or my attorney needs to contact her. This is a big ring of defrauding people that is phishing information and hacking computers getting information. Apparently the Secretary of State can do nothing about this because the numbers are not traceable. If they can't send you anything in writing hang up on them. No professional company will tell you on the phone that you are going to jail and fail to provide proof of any debt. Hang up on their butts. Call the Attorney General Office of Tennessee. When I googled the number it was from Murfreesboro, TN

Got the same call today from a Jessica Bailey and a supervisor name Cheryl Shorensen claim they were with National Check Investigation Services (also known as WCD Investigations) and they will forward my info to the state attorneys office to issue a warrant for my arrest via the DA for a debt from 6 years ago and that my bank was going to be called as a witness. I contacted my bank they have no clue of who these people are or what they are talking about and to not send them any info,  but for some reason they had my bank name and acct # but that acct had been closed for 5 years. She said I should just cantact a defense attorney to represent me if I dont pay $920.00 by next week. I'm not paying it and my attorney is primed and ready I filed bankruptcy in 09 and all debt were included.

Got a call from Ms. Bailey and Ms. Shorensen today my damn self.  They said I was going to jail etc.  Claimed it was a Payday loan taken in 2008, blah, blah, blah.  It didn't pass the smell test to say the least as the debt she referenced is one I paid another collector off for two years ago.  So I told her that Ace Cash Express could kiss my posterior orifice.  I would retain an attorney and let him handle it.

Most states the statute of limitations on all civil claims (check fraud is such a claim) is 2 years but it varies state to state.  Check with your district attorney or Justice of the Peace to find out exactly what it is  In Texas they have TWO years to file a case once you default.  So if they are calling about something from 2008, just tell em to bring it.  You can then sue THEM for fraud.  Chances are they will drop it once you let them know you aren't scared and won't back down.  They thrive on fear, don't let them scare you.  Educate yourself about the laws in your state regarding debt and when someone can sue you and the time frame they have to do it in.

    Good luck

    disturbed at this
I just had a call at my work to another extension that was not even mine and they told the person that I needed to get a hold of them in 1 hour or they were on their way to serve papers. I went to my HR dept. and they said they would never let anyone on our property for an employee, nor do they forward any calls - I looked up the number, which was different from the ones above - 972-295-9024 - and asked them who they were - they said NCIS Check Frauid, an affilitate with Chase - which I then knew was total bogus, as no bank would have a phone number or company affiliated with it that is not legitimately listed in the white papers - they asked fo rmy name, but I did not give them - he got angry and said it was for 'internet fraud' (right!) and they were going to get the local police at my door to server papers - going to forward this number and any other that comes through directly to my lawyer, as I have never been associated with Chase Bank, nor internet fraud!!!!
