- I Know BetterThey want you to call back to see who it is. Usually someone is on the other end just listening.
When I see this, I say, "This line is recorded". They have not called me back in over a year. Actual company and address is out of Nevada. They use other phone numbers to prevent lawsuits.- Caller: FNCB

- FS| 1 replyGlad to see all the info posted. Since I have 0 debt, then it must be for the person that had this number prior to me. I will add it to my list of incoming numbers to block. These type of calls are really making me consider dropping my land line.

Try reading that federal law I cited exactly two months before your lament. Congress and the FTC are ahead of you by 37 years. - Resident47 replies to Bozer MThe collection industry relies on predictive dialers about as heavily as telemarketers. Such dialers buckshot many calls at a time, their programmers knowing that not all will gain a human response. A call you receive gets abandoned when all available agents are occupied with those who managed to beat you to answering them. The idea is to avoid paying idle employees. This is an efficiency for the business. The time they save is converted to waste of your time, like a collateral damage.
For telemarketers, excess call abandonment is hemmed by a marginal "safe harbor" specified in the Telemarketing Sales Rule, which sales callers nonetheless break frequently. Debt collectors have no such numeric limit on their abandoned calls, and thus show no restraint. In my FDCPA complaints I have raised this issue as a matter of annoyance and harassment when appropriate. Recently a different collector pelted me with skip trace messages urging my response to a "very important matter", but I was never connected to a live rep in the several times I tried to comply. That kind of vexation from sales callers is again specifically banned by the TSR, but not by the outdated FDCPA. - Resident47 replies to FSLetting some dumb skip trace calls chase you away from a phone number is hardly fair or free to you. You can put collectors on written notice as I discussed previously, and have the satisfaction of both greater silence and also setting a legal trap for those who disobey.
- Just call back| 1 replyI called them back and in fact it was First National Collections Bureau. They were looking for Darrell Saul, or close to that. I told them there was no one here by that name. She was very polite and said she would remove my number. My only question is why when they called, no one says anything on the other end.

- Jr replies to Just call backThe reason why no one responds when you pick up the phone is because these debt collectors use a computer dialing system that does not "pick up the call" on their end until the computer detects that you picked up the call on your end. That is why there is a delay, and sometimes why when we answer, no one is there, and then the call disconnects.
I just got a call from this number. Left no message. I called back and was met with a recording, telling me to press 1 to be added to their do not call list. Thats it. no option to speak to a person, nothing. - Smarterthanyou replies to Resident47| 1 replyResident47 works for this scammer company. What a dip crap.
- Resident47 replies to SmarterthanyouI will be happy to review your carefully compiled evidence of your assertion, made I am sure upon studious attention to my contributions overall.
