I just got this and called back, immediately went to voice and under the name thomas starnes from what i can make out. this is as of 4/5/2016 at around 7:30pm

Called us, no voice mail left.  ID said "Police assistan"

"Police Assistan(ce??)" Blocked!!! Received a similar call from 865-335-0466  on another day...Blocked as well.

Called and asked for john, my father.  I said he wasn't here.  Did not leave a message quickly hung up.  Not professional at all.  Very suspicious call.  Said police assistance on the caller id.  They didn't ask for anything, but I think they're trying to get elderly people on the phone. Big scam I'm sure.

Called and told my son they'd call back.  Called the number back.  It goes to a sprint voice mail box for a guy named Tom. Its a scam.

Called ...we didn't answer ...no message ...suspect scam after reading these ...we won't be answering. ...caller ID said POLICE ASSISTANT

No message left but was on caller ID. Got the same voicemail as everyone else.

The hung up after the first few words of my "not available" message. I also always write this type off as a scam, usually after checking here and a couple other suspicious call websites. I just blocked them. End of story.

Called, left no message.  Assume it's a scam.

Received not once but twice, the first time at nearly 8pm. The second call was during the day, while I was at work. When I answered the person was very rude and a Class A Jerk. He said (rudely) that he'd erase my number as I blocked his on my phone. Even if it were legit I don't help anyone claiming to give to the police, especially from a loser like this.

Answered the call however the caller did not speak.  The number is now blocked.

Received a call from this number about a month ago and the gentleman said they were calling to raise money for fallen police officer's families. He asked if I was the head of the house and when I told him that I was not, he laughed and said he would call back when someone that has the power to make decisions is available. I just received a call again and did not answer. No message left.

Got the same type of call the other people in these threads did and the same thing, tried to call them back with now luck. When i called the number back it's voice mail recording said Tom Stranes.

these jerks have been calling me for years. With the recent Police shootings the scammers are at it again. If you want to give money to Police victims go to your police and give them money  and get a receipt..
