Called Family member asked to check a refrence for a job i applied for, when i called to find out what they wanted they asked for my social to pull up my information i said no thanks a hung up..

I got a call from this number and they said i had defaulted on student loans and then asked for my ss# so they could pull up mu account and I said no and got off the phone with them.

Showed as a TN phone number.  I was unable to answer and the caller did not leave a message

A Mr. Lowman calls and leaves urgent messages on my voice mail to have my 42-year-old son, who hasn't lived with me or shared my phone number since he was 19 and who has never had my current phone number or address, to call him immediately. He does not identify my son by name and gives no information about the call except to say that it's very urgent he get in touch with my son.

There's no indentification of a company, no identification of who Lowman, no job title, no reason for the call, no indication that it is private information (as if it were a bank or a debt collector), just a strong sense of urgency and concern. There is not enough information to indicate that he really knows my son or anything about him if he does.

That urgency is so intense that it also makes the call highly suspicious, especially when coupled with the fact that he doesn't know that my son doesn't live here or even in this state and never has, yet he claims to know him well enough that they have urgent business. I suppose that's supposed to get me to jump immediately to get him in contact with my son, but it does just the opposite. It makes me think Lowman must be some kind of scam artist.

I'm not sure if it's my son or me that he is really trying to get to call him, but it doesn't sound legit, so I don't call, because once you call a business, they have the right to hassle you with sales calls for 18 months, even if you're on the Do Not Call List.

The phone is a cell phone, but I have found in recent years that many companies are giving their employees cell phones so that potential customers can't screen them out or find them by reverse number as easily and free.

Lowman is also either the hoarsest man who ever used a phone or trying to disguise his voice, which also is suspicious.

This number is constantly calling my home, when I answer, it's automated or there is no one on the other end.  I want these to stop.

Just called my phone and asked for my husband???? They never identified themselves and He has never had this cell phone number. Just said they would try to call one of his other numbers and hung up.
