A call from this number arrived today.  When the call rolled to voice mail, the caller left no message.  According to www.411.com this is a cell phone in Dorr, MI.  Since I have never heard of this town, and certainly don't know anyone who lives there, I must conclude this was a possible contact by an illegal telemarketer.  According to a poster on mrnumber.com

"Never leaves a name just a nasty message and they don't answer when I call back."

If anyone else has been contacted by this mystery caller from Dorr, MI, please report your experience on this page.

Caller left message on answering machine. The message was obliterated by high levels of static--sounded like in order to avoid criminal action we needed to call a phone number for their help. Obviously bogus!

Called at 5:20 am!  Foreign sounding voice said that ignoring this number is a second attempt to avoid criminal action before a magistrate and to call Dennis at this number if I want him to help me.  WTF

Telemarketers are those who call attempting to sell you products,  goods,  or services.   This caller is a criminal scum debt collector.

Well then if you know this for a fact, please give us the name and any other information you have so that we can post it here for others to see.

Received same phone call today from a "Frank Smith" with an Indian accent.  Called him back and he claimed to be working for IRS and there was a warrant out for my arrest for delinquent 2012 Federal Income Tax--which is untrue.  He even read off a number which I failed to write down that would prove his claim.  I have no doubt that there is a Frank Smith somewhere that works for the IRS but he was not that person.

Received call from "Private Number" at 9:45 a.m. Msg from Dennis Gray with a foreign accent said it's regarding the US Treasury and that ignoring this number is a second attempt to avoid criminal action before a magistrate and to call Dennis at this number. I called 616-359-4311 and the man (not Dennis) also with forgein accent said this is the treasury dept a dept of legal affairs. When I told him that I don't have any treasury issues and asked what this was about he disconnect the call. Bogus!

It's May 6, 2015 and I, too, returned a call from 616-359-4311 moments ago from a Dennis Gray.   Ordinarily, I would
not have returned the call; however, I felt somewhat obligated since his message stated he was from the IRS?  He, too,
mentioned that there was a warrant out for my arrest relating to a problem with my 2012 tax return, etc., etc.   We spoke
for several moments and I suppose it was something I said (?), at which point the phone went dead ... he had hung up.
He had an Indian accent, for sure, which I had difficulty in understanding.   How regrettable that we are, these days,
subject to these terribly annoying disturbances!!!!

Now the poster I replied to clearly stated that it was a debt collector by stating “This caller is a criminal scum debt collector.”  So all I asked him was to prove his statement.  Just like I have just proven myself to you.  If he had other information, then instead of making an ambiguous statement he should have posted what he actually knew, not what he supposed to be the answer.

Just got the call; no message left. This IRS fraud is running rampant.  The IRS does not contact by phone.

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.  Ignore and block the calls.

IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

Not much most law enforcement can do in these situations.  You might contact Your local law enforcement.  If enough complaints are made, local law might be able to have some sort of press conference that the media could hook up to.

This recorded message claims to be from Mr Grey about a collection from the US Treasury and that I need to call asap or it will be turned over to the magistracy, judge or grand jury for federal criminal offense.

I didn't call back and you shouldn't either.  Just another scam!

I'm 67 years scare to death when I got the same call/threat  5/7/15.  Thanks I did this search

I received a call this AM. I answered, but there was no one on line.  I called back, and Asian-Indian sounding gentleman started asking questions about my IRS filings.  Told him there was some info I would not provide, but he did know my name when I called back.  Caller ID, I suppose.  I think IRS should go after this scumbag.

Just to follow up, I did report to IRS.
