It's your time to waste by filing a complaint.. But it doesn't work.
oh, and our "wonderful"  FTC didn't even know how to handle these folks so they offered a $50,000 reward. Go to "FTC $50,000 challenge" . Learn all about it.
In my opinion they should fire the whole lot of them and start over with some competent people who can do their job.
But- that's not what this government wants, they want the fines! They want the Money!!!

    Here's what I did....
I did not answer any unknown phone calls for around TWO (2) months. I unplugged my answering machine for that time, too.
To these folks, this was a dead phone number. Calls got much more for a couple of weeks, then less as time went.
Now, I get a phone call once every month or so! Love it!.
That is much better than the 5 to 7 calls A DAY, don't you think?

Same old, same old.  Caller I.D. says "VO5291054170018" whatever the hell that means.  Rang three times and hung up.  I just reported the robocall violation, blocked the series of numbers associated with these crooks (Thanks earlier poster!), and finally called my Congressman's office.  We need new, enforceable legislation to take back our telephones.  We also need a new "Call Type" below.  These folks aren't telemarketers, they are scam artists trying to harvest credit card numbers.

I received a call from the above number, today 5/29/13 at 12:56pm.  I let the recorder pick it up. No Messages. The DNC list is a joke.

Answered to tell them to stop haunting me and got a nasty woman who said I obviously did not understand what they were offering. When I could not get her to stop talking (after repeatedly telling her to remove my name and number from their scam list) I just hung up. My advice is to ignore the calls no matter how annoying they are because you will not get anywhere in trying to get them to stop harassing you.............I would eliminate my landline but they call on my cell also!!!!

Zeeland MI showed up on the landlady's caller ID. She's an elder in her church and Zeeland is a devout community, but I seriously doubt she would have anything to do with anything in Michigan.

You can rant all you want, but the truth is the FCC DOES go after these scammers and scoff laws, IFF they can trace them. The problem is/was that these low lifes "spoof" their numbers, so they can't be traced. The $50,000 contest you mention was to find a way to either prevent "spoofing" or to track back through the 'spoofing' network to find the REAL caller.
If you want to get to the real source of the problem, you need to go after Bell Labs. They are the ones who created caller ID, and left the door open to spoofing. I suppose you could ask congress to pass legislation to make spoofing networks illegal, but that would require that the tea-baggers would have to get off their duffs and vote yes on something constructive.

Same BANK CARD SVCS called. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. i then blocked the number. CenturyLink only allows me 10 #'s that I can block so once I ghet to the limit I wait a week and then delete all the ones previously blocked and then start all over again. I have yet to get a repeat call from previously blocked #'s once unblocked. i think they get the blocked message and remove my # from their call list.

I would recommend all to call their phone provider and insist on call block technology or go to one who does provide the service.

Why CenturyLink limits the number of number I can block is a mystrey to me but may be restained by technology.

Just received my second call from this number in less thaV605121n 30 minutes. Picked up the second call and listened to the message. Pressed one and got a live person told them I was on the do not call registry and not to call again! The operator stopped talking and did not speak. I said Hello a few times and they finally hung up. I know this is not my credit card company and they are scammers! Why are they calling now I have had my number for a year and never received one of these before.

V06051213390082 This is how it appears in my caller ID above the telephone number. But they say they are from credit card services with a very important message regarding my interest and the economic stimulus. Trying to sound like an official government call. Yea right!

Taking a cue from one of the posts above, I dialed the 616-613-2225 number from a friend's phone and got a recording supposedly(!) giving me the option of having my number put on THEIR Do Not Call list. I opted for that choice, and my friend's number was entered. I then called back and did the same with my number, the one they had just called. I hope I have not set myself up for more calls rather than less.

Not only will they continue to call your number but, they will now start calling your friends number.
The ONLY thing pressing the "opt out" numbers do is verify that they reached a working number.  Trust me, I've been getting calls from these thieves for OVER 5 YEARS.
Your best bet is to continue to report these calls to the DoNotCall registry every time you get one.  Eventually,  they will catch up to them but, that will never happen if people dont report them.

Another one of the spoofed numbers used by the drug-addicted "card services" scammers in their efforts to rip us off. Google my name to learn how too stop their annoying calls, while also having some fun!

I took the call.  I was told it was about lowering my rates on a credit card.  Laughing here - I don't have a credit card!  When I asked "which one?" I was told withMaster Card from Bank America or Chase (I don't deal with either of those banks).  I then told the person I don't have a credit card, and to stop calling me.

At last. A rational statement. Sadly your effort at truth-telling will not impress those who need to rant political views as well as those who seem to believe that 800notes is read by the offending callers they report.

If everyone called their congressman each time one of these calls came in this problem might get fixed. Over a third of a congressperson's working time is spent fundraising. If our phone scam reports cut into fundraising you can bet the fix would be quick... Of course, it's their staff members that would be addressing our complaint. The trick is to get a live person on the phone. Probably better to call the representative's local number. After hours you will get voice mail. Ask for a return call at your own convenience. Might be best not to be to specific when you record your message... the point is to voice your annoyance to a living person.

Or, give each scammer/telemarketer your representative's local number. Tell him/her that that number is your preferred number.

These d-bags called me a couple of days ago and left two messages on my machine.  The messages asked me to call them back or I would miss my chance to refinance credit card rates.  I don't carry a balance on any credit cards unless I have a 0% interest deal, so I know this is a scam.  I reported them today and would urge everyone else who receives a call to do the same.
