Venture Data Research is the caller, probably a political campaign survey. If you call the number back they have an automated message that offers a contact e-mail address.

Calls my cell phone twice a day everyday. I don't answer numbers that I do not recognize. It's starting to become annoying.

I also get several calls from this number. I do not answer calls from people I do not know.If you really want to talk to me you would leave a message. If you dont its because you want something. And answering machines can not be conned. Please leave us alone. I have no idea who this caller from cambrige is.

Called on 11-17-11 at 7:43pm.  No response on a hang up call.  Rude.  May be an automated call.

Received call on cell phone with my voice echoing in background. Some kind of survery. Asked to kindly not call and got yes Maamed.

Annoying survey company that participates in the "polls" that are used to mold public opinion (aka propaganda).

I answered the phone and was told by a man at Venture Research, Cambridge, MA that he would like to ask me some questions about the environment.  I agreed.  He said, "First of all, am I speaking to you on a HOME phone or a CELL phone?"  I told him that I preferred not to answer that question.  He said, What?  I reiterated my reply and said that I didn't understand why he needed that information.  He said, "that's actually the only question I needed to ask you" and hung up.  Weird b.s.!

This number belongs to a Republican "polling" firm and engages in push polling for and against candidates.  The owner of the company is in a long-term homosexual relationship with Brent Littlefield, a closeted Republican strategist and political director for Maine Governor Paul LePage.

I am a female that lives in Maine and received a call from them this evening.  They first asked if I was on a cell phone - which technically I was (landline number transferred to a cell line connection via AT&T).  Then I was asked if I was some place safe where I could answer questions freely without fear of harm.  I said to him "Why would you ask me that?!  You called me!" or something like that.  He mumbled something and hung up. Thinking about it later - it seemed pretty creepy to me. I have no idea what this was about.  If I get any further calls from them, I intend to phone the police - this just seemed very inappropriate and unsafe. My husband agrees.  I would hate to think others might get calls from them like that.

Democratic National Committee, supposedly. She asked how often the house is empty. I told them our rabid pit bulls are always home and asked to have the number removed from the mailing list. I'm sure they'll call back.

The company is venture research.  They work for Republicans, but when they get an angry person on the line they tell the caller that they work for Democrats.

Check out their clients.  All Republican.  Venture Research is known for carrying out some very sleazy push poll tactics, including providing false information under the guise of a scientific poll.  As if Republicans had any appreciation of science...
