This is a well known Indian scam where they use VOIP to make it seem they are calling from a US number. Caller is rude and threatens to continue to call until he gets to the person he is calling. He is now blocking his caller ID so his number is not recognizable. BEWARE, do not talk with these people, it is a scam.

- Diva1980Caller claims I have several lawsuits against me and he wants to collect money on them. The lawsuit is from check cash advance places something I don't have but what's scary is he knows my last four of my social security number. It's a scam!
- CeasarGot a call from a Donald Oliver numerous times so I returned the call and spoke to a Steve Hogan. Mr. Hogan was very rude, cursed at me and threatened me. I remained calm and asked to be mailed proof of my debt. He refused and said he would only send something after I pay him. I refused because to pay before proof didn't make sense to me. They then started calling my job the same day and tied up the 2 incoming line to my department. My boss told them to stop calling and what they were doing was illegal. My boss then called me and told me that this has to stop or corporate would get involved. I then called back on our recording line and I think it spooked them because they said I had the wrong number, hung up on me numerous times and finally cursed at me again and said they would mail something and hung up. I doubt they will send anything and it seems like they will do anything to scare or embarrass you into paying. Do Not Fall For This!!!

I called the line, and asked for Roy and all the others listed...roy was call the hospital.
Gave them my name George Henry..bogus and said they were trying to collect, $3453 from me.
He said that I need to pay $575 today to stop the calls.
Funny, he could not tell me anything more than I owed him money...
everything I said was bogus, yet he claims to see my file and the amount owed.

Even changed their number to look like the call was coming from an inside line. This continued until we stopped answering the calls. Also faxed an employment verification form to find out if employee still worked for us. Total scam.....

- The Secretary| 3 repliesSince 11/15/12, an East Indian man calling himself 'Rayvon Scott' or 'Paul Hogan' claims to be calling to contact an employee who owes money. He also uses a voice changer and the name 'Paul Pratt'. He will start calling around 8:45am and call repeatedly [like every 30 seconds to 60 seconds] for 2 hours at a time. He will attempt to engage every extension in the office in hopes the person answering the phone [secretary] will just give in and put the employee on the line, even though he has been repeatedly told that employees [per an Administrative Rule] can only take personal calls if it is a family emergency during work hours. He uses profanity and states he will continue the 'harassment' until he speaks with the employee requested. Mr. Scott acknowledges he is in violation of the FTC Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and taunts 'what can they do to me' call the FBI, call the police. He is phone bombing and harassing a State of Illinois Dev. Disabilities Center in Illinois. As the secretary who is affected by this swindler, I plan to file complaints with the FTC and the Illinois Attorney General every day 'Mr. Scott' chooses to launch his campaign of intimidation & phone harassment.
Best defense seems to be professional courtesy, "I'm sorry that person is not available may I take a message?" along with "I'm sorry we are not allowed to disclose that information" when he asks if the employee is working. Also if there are multiple lines into the area, forward them to one extension. This approach seems to frustrate him as his plan to intimidate & harass goes south pretty quickly.- Call type: Debt collector
- Payback replies to The Secretary| 2 repliesThe idiots now started using a voice changer. Ignore them, block them, and report them.
