Police donation scam do not answer

Police & fire do not call for donations in the state of IL.

Scammers. Caller I.D. comes up Community Service.

Just now received the call that went to voicemail. My machine leaves a very short message, "Leave a message, please" and then a long pause. Most auto-dialers think a person has answered, so a real person comes on to attempt to phish info. They are confused when no one is there.... poor a$$hole scammers that they are. This number is now blocked.

Called my home phone, but did not leave a message.

I meant to add the name Community Service was listed on my caller id---and this call came from outside my area code.

Decided to answer. Guy claimed he was collecting for police donations.
I said, 'we support our police,' than disconnected the call.

Charities, Political and some survey's are exempt from the DNC, survey's that try and sell goods and/or services are not exempt no matter what they may say.

You best bet to stop these calls are use a call blocker, device or phone. You can still file complaints on them if they do not stop though when asked to.
