How do I stop them.  they call almost daily and hang up when I tell them to remove my name from their call list

What options does one have to defend themselves against intrusive callers?

• The Do Not Call list (Federal or State)
Works, but is effective against ONLY "legitimate" telemarketers.  Political callers, surveys and some other callers are exempt.  Scammers ignore the DNC list.

• NoMoRobo
A system offered by some telephone providers, to help automatically block robocalls.  Google "nomorobo" to see if it works with your phone provider.

• Shouting, screaming, swearing at the caller
Nope.  Does not stop calls.  May make you hoarse, and will disturb nearby people.

• Call blocker app, device or service
Could be a good choice (even though the scammers can use fake phone numbers), and some apps are free!
Google "call blocker" for more information, or check your favorite online sales site for a list.

Your phone provider may also offer blocking services.  Check their web page for information.

If you cannot use any of the above defenses, then:
• Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service

• If you have a "dumb" cell phone, assign the scammer's number to a group named "scammers" (or similar).  Then, assign a silent ringtone to that group.

Try a call blocker. Otherwise ignore them or it will increase the number of calls.

I have AT&T and used *60 to block those buggers.  They have called over and over and over and have hung up on me every time I've answered.

This morning, I had 5 phone calls on my answering machine. One stated "It's so rude when you don't answer your phone". To me that's harassment.  I looked up their number at http://www.freephonetracer.com. It says the number is listed to M Clare in Chula Vista, CA.

Received call not message left. I have learned that 619-216-XXXX is not a robo call/telemarketer. Anyone know how to block a range of numbers on an iPhone using iOS7?

Got call from this number. Caller ID shows Francis P King. Left no message on my voice-mail. I promptly blocked this number.

I just created a caller in my contacts called Blocked Numbers (I have Sprint for my carrier but I'm sure they all have something similar). I then set the block contact to on and I no longer get calls from numbers like these. I have nearly 100 numbers in this contact now.

The same Solar [***] keep calling changing their numbers. Won't they ever get it that no person in their right mind would buy anything from harassing unsolicited callers?

these [***] call me at least one time a day and hang up when i answer. the numbers i have are all the same except for the last 4 digits they all start with 619 216 **** i have had 0900,and 0430

This company calls muliple times every day even though all my phone numbers are listed on the government do not call list.  I have also asked them repeatedly to take me off their list.  I block each number as they call on my cell phone - always starts with '619-216-0' with the remaining digits variable.  They are a pest.  If anyone has any suggestions as to how to stop the calls, please post.  Thank you.

Same as 619-216-0430. Say "they are saving the planet". VoIP call from a very noisy call center. Since VoIP the number is spoofed (you can't call them back). I think the last one said they were "Renewable Energy" I have asked over and over to get off their their calling list.

I save these scam numbers in my phone as scam1,scam 2, etc and them click the "block caller"option in the contact list. It's working great! I have 90% less calls than I used too. Hope this helps you all. This number used to call daily and ever since I saved it and blocked it I havent received a call since :)

Ditto everything posted to date… they call DAILY and I don't answer because it is not a recognized number.  The DO NOT CALL REGISTRY apparently has no teeth to help consumers from these unwanted calls.  Yes, I can ignore them, but they are annoying and intrusive!  Thanks for the address - since this person lives in my geographical area, I just may go intrude on his privacy!!

I'm not sure who or what this is but every time I answer they hang up so please make it stop!
