I hope they all get cancer!

The following is from the donotcall.gov website on exempt companies.  Just cause they say they are non-profit doesn't mean they are exempt.  Plus, you can report all these unwanted calls on the donotcall.gov website.

"Exempt Organizations ("EO") – includes any person or business that is exempt from both the FTC's and FCC's requirements to access the National Registry, but voluntarily chooses to access the information solely for the purpose of preventing telephone calls to telephone numbers in the National Registry. Exempt Organizations include charities or certain non-profit organizations, organizations engaged in political solicitations or surveys, or Sellers or Telemarketers that call ONLY consumers with whom they have an established business relationship or from whom they have obtained the express written agreement to call. See 16 CFR § 310.4(b)(1)(iii)(B)(i) and (ii). Entities that have been granted tax exempt status under the Internal Revenue Code are not necessarily Exempt Organizations for purposes of the National Do Not Call Registry. See, e.g., FTC v. National Consumer Council, Inc., and FTC v. Debt Management Foundation Services, Inc., at http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2005/03/creditcouncel.htm. There, the FTC successfully challenged the status of a purported nonprofit organization whose role in fact was simply to generate leads for other firms which then charged consumers thousands of dollars in fees for their services. Exempt Organizations must wait three business days following the submission of their request to access registered telephone numbers before they may be given access to such numbers. I get at least 1 to 3 calls every day from these people. They keep asking me to send money even though I told them that I already donate to other foundations. Not only that, I asked that they take me off of their call list over a month ago, and they just keep calling more often! How did they get my number since I'm on the Do Not Call list?

These people are sick.  No money goes to cancer.  This is a phone bank of thieves and scumbags who hang up on you no matter how polite you are (or they just hang up on you just as you pick up the phone).

i pick up and no one is there it is so annoying
then i call the number back and no one live picks up only the voice mail lady

They didn't leave any message.
They called Oct 20 afternoon.

Called and hung up.

Called back, got an automated message about Breast Cancer and mammograms.
Plan to file a complaint with donotcall.gov

|My phone rang several times and when I picked it up, all I got was a click, like they are just checking to see if someone is home. Whare is 619 area code? Why can't they be stoopped from making this kind of call?

Received a call on my home line at 6:32 pm, January 26, 2011.

I was out and the caller did not leave a message.

I'm sick of telemarketers.

Are you folks aware that you have to occasionally have to reregister with the national do not call registery. I have. I cannot remember the frequency that you have to get reregistered but check it out.

Bob - not any longer, if you go to the donotcallregistry, it now says it NEVER expires!  So, register away!  Wont do you any good though... I hate to admit that I have become quite nasty to any phone number that I dont recognize (I will never give up my caller ID), takes more than 2 seconds for someone to answer (means they are doing it thru the computer, so there is a connect delay), once they answer -- I scream into the phone that I am on the do not call list and that they had best remove me from their list and I hang up.  It is really a sad way to treat people, but tell me why do they have a "do not call list"???????  Because almost everyone I know HATES telemarketers!
