- AnonymMe too. They started calling before 6AM this morning. They're dumb enough to leave messages on my voice mail. I've got three of them recorded so far.
- Caller: no idea
- Call type: Prank
- Tony replies to JaredJust got the same bogus phone call. It's complete BS. I searched the phone number online and it has been used for other bogus purposes, like credit card consolidation deals.
- Joe FForeign accent caller threatened arrest if call not returned. He indicated he was with US Treasury. Six calls in two hours. It is a scam. Ignore calls and block number.
- PAReceived a call from this number already 3 times today. Let message go to recorder all three times and each message was exactly the same. Accent so heavy that it could not even be understood. Stupid to call on a Saturday as no real government official would call on a Saturday. Glad for the information from other callers. I will probably pick up next time so that they will hopefully stop calling my number.
- Call type: Prank

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so. - MikeI got 2 voice mail messages from a Indian with poor English representing the US Treasury and making the same threats today. First of all, the US Treasury conducts business by US mail and nobody representing the US Teasury would ever call you without having sent correspondence through the mail beforehand. Just ignore the call and report it to the authorities.
- Ready for jail in PA!I got 3 messages from this number (6197528641) yesterday - same MO - foreign accent and urgency around a return call or I face criminal action by US Treasury. Three calls! Wow, I must have done something worse the Congress!
- Hey YouGot a call and called ID listed the number but "unknown name" so as usual I didn't answer. Left a voice mail. guy with a heavy Indian or Pakistanie accent said his name was Steve Martin (Right) and he represented the Treasury Department and that if I didn't call him back so he could "help me" solve my problem with the treasury I'd go to jail, intentionally not returning a call from the government, Grand Jury, and the usual scam [***] threats. Left a number to call which was the same one on my caller ID. I saved the message to turn over to the treasury dept scam guys. The I called my carrier, Verizon, and now the fun part. After pressing a dozen different button, got a guy who guess what, spoke in a heavy Indian or Pakistanie accent and said his name was Frank! Don't they ever use their real names? Good guys as well as bad. How stupid do they think I am to believe it's their real name? Said he couldn't do anything except put a block on that number. While I was on the phone with them, ather call was coming in, it left a message and it was the same exact message from Steve Martin that I got 10 minutes prior.
Please don't say anything about the do not call list. The DNC list is a piece of [***] that flat out doesn’t work or do any good. It’s only a “feel good” type thing that the government put together to make it look like they care and will do something. Complain all you want to them and report all the numbers that violate the DNC list (like I use to do at first). What do they do? Not a f…ing thing (unless maybe you’re a big contributor to their election fund, and then those people probably have a secret number that they can call to report [***] that bother them. - Denise replies to VAemployeeI got the same message .
- BidDSame scam message today. The guy on the recording called himself Steve Martin and he had a middle eastern accent. This is totally bogus - just ignore these calls.
- Call type: Debt collector
- in Virginia4x today calls started before 9am. I am sick and short tempered today. Stop calling you idiot.
- Caller: scam
- calls to VAFour phone calls this morning (two sets of two in a row). In each set, the message is left the first time, then right after the second call comes and does not leave a message. Perhaps they think we would be scared by the first message and so would pick up if they call again immediately. Same 'Steve Martin', same hard to understand message but same type of message about the United States Treasury, a magistrate, not calling back would mean we were failing to respond, etc.
- JonathanSame recorded message; twice the morning of October 13 in Virginia. I did put in a complaint at FTC
- Caller: "Treasury Department"
- Call type: Debt collector
- ScottI hope they call again...I want to have some fun with them.
- Caller: Us treasury
- John replies to MinPAGot the call twice within 5 minutes. Got one previously about 2 months ago.
- VASame call. Called twice in 10 minutes. Male speaker, Indian accent, broken English, said his name was Steve Martin. Claimed he was calling about an enforcement action with the U.S. Treasury. Said if I did not return the call I would be in big trouble with a federal court, magistrate court, or grand jury for a federal criminal offense. Ignore this call, do not waste time calling back. Report to the IRS Inspector General for Tax Administration and the FCC.
