Got a phone call from this number. No one ever answers when I say hello. I hate this number with a passion.

Been getting calls last few days from this number,  again, no one there, line disconnects.

A few times this week they called with no message. I had fake scams before like  these    )@&?;//68&/"!8!',,!!  Scammers with East Indian accents harassed me with threats of sending me to the "Dept of Police" and putting me in a prison for not paying them for a fake loan I never had.  So-- I never even answer the phone anymore . According to a local news report on tv, it's more common now that a lot of these jerks already have your info/ ss # and are fishing for more info from anything you say by talking to them! Do not answer!

No message, answering machine was on! I'm on a do not call list!

They claim to be representing some charity, and therefore exempt from DO NOT CALL.

I get calls from numbers just like this one as well as others and there never is anyone on the other end. It just disconnects. I don't know what the point of a calling number and disconnecting for no reason.What do they get out of it.

ID theft ring..no legit charity uses San Diego as a caller ID.

caller asked for my credit card number..its a scam.

I bought a Digitone Call Blocker.  It blocks 80 numbers (and/or) area codes.  What a relief!!!. Well worth the money.

Companies nowadays use predictive autodialers.  They know a certain percentage of people are not going to answer (or it's going to go to an answering machine), so they place more calls than they have agents available to handle them.  If a live person picks up, the call is transferred to an available agent; if not, the machine just hangs up.  This is how it's SUPPOSED to work.  In practice, they sometimes get more people answering than they expected, so if you pick up and don't sound like an answering machine (you say a short phrase, e.g. "hello?" as opposed to a long phrase like "You have reached Blah Blah, your call is important to us, please leave a message") when there's not anyone open to handle the call, it just drops connection. Or maybe it just waits to see if an agent becomes available, but usually in that case you've gotten tired of no response and hung up.

They never leave messages, because they know up front that NO ONE is ever interested enough to call them back anyway; the hope is that if they catch you live and off guard you might agree to something.

I've noticed that while I occasionally get autodialer calls on my work line, they almost always hang up.  I'm guessing that when I answer with a longer phrase, it confuses the autodialer into thinking I'm an answering machine.

When I get these calls...I just use my "boat horn" nd blast them a good one!!! If thry are wearing ear phones this works really well. Or I say I am the housekeeper and not allowed to make decisions. Or I say the local police scam division and they hang up quickly. or just keep saying hello????hello???? Hello??? and they think they have seriously flawed mental human being....or record a show where there is massive gunfire and turn it on when they call... This all works well...but the boat horn works really well.....

I knew I shouldn't have used my old number to connect to the ships sat phone.

I received the same call. However, what is strange is that they knew my my full name and stated they were from the Lukemia Foundation, seeking donations. I never give money to telemarketers over the phone, although I use to do telemarketing work myself back in the day when telephone scams like this were not as wide spread as they are now with the bad economy and terrorism, ex. At first the girl, paused, it took her a long time to speak. Very weird to me. I usually never answer telephone calls unless the caler ID states who it is, but we have relatives in California. Never again, will I answer with just a telephone. I will be screening calls from now on.

my recording picked up the following:
"40 minutes. You got 80 bucks in 40 minutes." Some background chatter. Giggles. Silence.

This is a professional fundraiser contracted to solicit donations for client charities. Unfortunately, they keep about 85% of a donation for overhead costs. So, in a way, it's a scam.

Called at 9:30 am, I answered by saying "hello?" And then I got hung up on. Good morning to me.

I am at a loss as to why Vonage does not allow a blocked list or do it for us.
They called yesterday. I put numbers on my call blocked list with my Panasonic but have a 30 numbers max. When the clowns called today, two days in a row, it blocked it.
Thanks for the office number. As I am sick and have a lot of free time, I call those that call and mail me. I start off with..."If you can bother me, then I can bother you"...then finish up with literally...I am sick, I have all day to call and tie up your people if you do not stop calling/mailing me"...
Then I tell them I have a robodialer too (me).

Today this company called using 9204714506 at 5:15 pm. I called the office number listed above and got an answer by someone answering the phone "innovative". I want to thank you for the office number. When I told the guy to stop calling my house EVERY DAY now (I have since added the new number), then hung up on him when he went to "get a pencil" to take down my number.
I plan to call and do what they do to me, hang up when they answer and call from different numbers.
Again, I feel if they can play these game with us...I have all the time in the world to tie them up and play games with them.
