left no message on cell phone..   did not answer.

Got a call from this number, at 8 in the morning. No voicemail left.
It's not in my contacts. Left no voicemail.

Portfolio Recovery. Trying to collect 20 year old debt that wasn't mine.

Which is why you should immediately send them a certified, return receipt "not me" letter. Curious though how you know it is a 20 year old debt if it isn't yours.

Calling on some debt that is  beyond the 7 year limit. Hear from them every 2- 3 years by phone

Because they said the service date over the phone.  Same way we all find that out.

Idiots from Portfolio Recovery Associates are again operating from a new set of numbers.  More numbers to add to block.  They are looking for my wife because there is debt that her ex-husband shoved off on her 15 years ago.

Sending the certified letter -- I've heard they take your signature off that letter and forge a new document that refreshes the service date and resets the SOL.  Google it.  It's happened to people.   Anybody remember how people lost their homes with Bank of America?  Forged documents on sketchy loans.

They never leave voicemail.  Once in a blue moon you can get a live voice if you answer it, they simply asked for my wife like they knew her -- and I said, I don't know who she is.  Another time I got brave and said I was her and they went on about this stuff from around 2000.  These idiots keep calling and calling and calling.    They are a day late this week, normally every single Monday, Wednesday, Friday they have called for several months.

But never call them, never talk to them.  I've seen other postings about people being screwed over on the SOL date by just dealing with them.

Well if that is the case, then that is an FDCPA violation to leave that on the message, or to tell it to someone who is not the debtor.

Some states have 10 year limits. Depends in what state the credit was issued.

They called asking for my spouse. Not sure how they got my number. I'm assuming they are porfolio recovery based on other comments but when I said he wasn't available they said thanks and hung up.

I have downloaded an app called Me. Number.  It automatically disconnects calls from numbers that are suspected scam numbers.  I dont have to input numbers or anything.The phone doesn't even ring, I just get a notice on my phone.  It's great.  I don't have to deal with these annoying calls anymore.

Called at 8:05 a.m., didn't leave a voicemail. Called at 6:38 p.m. the same day, didn't leave a voicemail.

They call me every day for weeks.  No message.
