Called and left no message.

This is portfolio recovery, a bottom feeder collection agency.

Keeps calling but no message.

they called threating my husband and he is in hospital , hasnt worked in over 2 years due to accident. I would like to know how the hell they go our cell number since its a pay as you go number.

Portfolio Recovery attempts collections on old charged off debts or old settled debts. They purchase these debts and the info is old and out of date. However they still try to pressure you into paying no matter the status. Do NOT PAY THEM!!! If you do happen to owe on a debt and can pay it then contact the original creditor. DO NOT TRUST THEM!! They are as shady as they come and yes, they are most certainly ASSHATS!!!! As for obtaining cell phone numbers on pay as you go phone? Well, white pages.com collects information on you including your name, address and phone number while you look up information on certain sites and then publish all of it on their site! Look up your info some time!! You will be quit surprised how much info shows up even if you don't subsrlcribe to social media! Privacy is no longer a privilege but rather history!! Sad state of affairs!!!

I received a call on my cell phone 5 minutes ago, but declined to answer. I never answer calls from numbers i don't recognize, especially this close to the elections. They didn't leave a message, so it must not have been that important.

Car accident put me and wife in hospital. Filed Chapter 13 and surrendered truck. 10 yrs later, they say we still owe $12k. Told them I'd see them in court. Block number, they call with different number.  This is from 2006. My state has 5 yr SOL

All they do is call to harass and threaten you on noncollectable debt.  Ignore them and do yourself a favor and block ALL their numbers!

Portfolio Recovery Service has been sued and lost, having to pay a multimillion dollar settlement for calling cell phones without the permission of the owner of that number for dates including December 2006 and July 2013.

Called around 8pm on my pay as you go cellphone. Started by saying it was a recorded line. Seemed like a total b*&^h!I played dumb and she got annoyed and hung up.

Join me in the fight! (I used to work in a call center -inbound- so I know a lot of the rules...) Want to hit them where it hurts? Mess with their numbers. It's worked for me with other calls like this. I call them back and put my phone on 'Mute'. after about 30-50 seconds they will hang up. So I just redial and call them on mute, 20-25 times in a row. It kills their call efficiency. The call handle time, the collections per call and the cost per call go all out of whack! It's a great way to get back at them for bum calling. (You can even do this at work as you wont actually be talking to them...)
