    American Express credit card scam.

    I think I've gotton to the bottom of this number.  It is NOT American Express per se.  However it appears it is a collection agency that is trying to recover AMEX card debt.  After numerous calls and messages left for someone I've never heard of, I decided to answer and find out who this is.  Heavy Indian accent; barely understandable but she did admit to being a "third party collection agency."  It seems questionable that they are allowed to call themselves "American Express" on the CID but as they are in India perhaps collection agencies are allowed to lie about their identity.  Still, it seems to violate the FDCPA.  Anyway, this is a third party debt collector.  Telling them they have the wrong number doesn't seem to help so now they are just blocked.
