a suspicious call that know my sons social security number and place of employment

A foreign man called my place of employment and cell number threatening me with a lawsuit.  Said he was from an attorneys office John Morrison Law Firm.  Won't give details, wanting money.  I told him I was reporting them to the FBI.

OMG.Same thing just happened to me about an hour ago i told them to do whatever.Cause it didnt make any sense

I just got a call from a guy named Roger Jones saying he needed my lawyer or me to call he wished me luck funny thing is I've been getting alot of calls from different numbers but with the same voice be careful ppl don't fall for these guys all they want is your SSN and info or money

I received a call from a foreign gentleman who left me a message about filing 3 charges against me and I needed to have an attorney return the call. When I returned the call it just rang with no answer. When I finally got through to someone he told me I owed a cash advance place that I have never heard of before. Should I be worried?

I received a voice mail from a foreign indian man I could hardly understand his message except he kept repeating this is a legal emergency and I needed to call him right away!. He has called 3 x's so far today. I think this is a scammer.

This is a version of the you-have-committed-a-crime extortion scam and you are being...
1. charged with fraud or passing bad checks or embezzlement or
2. served with a court summons or arrest warrant or bench warrant or whatever or
3. located in preparation to being served or for a lawsuit or to be arrested or
4. whatever stupid crap reasons they will think up next.

And you have to...
1. call back with your case number or
2. confirm your address or SSN or whatever so you can be served or your papers can be processed or
3. pay $895 now to avoid paying $5,000 in court or
4. whatever stupid crap reasons they will think up next.

Beware extortion scams come in many flavors and they constantly evolve to stay one step ahead of the law.

Just received exact same phone call. When I told him it was bogus he told me to just wait because the sheriff was on his way to arrest me. I would lose my job & not be able to get another for 6 months. Also told me they were going to freeze my credit report & I would never be approved for anything ever again. Told him he was full of it & he decided to then cuss & threaten harm to me. No clue what this is about but he had last 4 of SS#. That's all he had so whatever.

I got a call this morning and saved the voicemail. I haven't actually talked to the guy or even been able to leave a voicemail. The thing says it's full... probably from all you good people telling him off. I'm mad that this is happening, but glad that there are other people out there who know what's going on.

I also got a phone call today from a foreign man stating they was pressing charges against me for check fraud and some other things. what do I need to do?

Same thing as everyone else. Voicemail about me or my attorney needing to call this guy back, he said his name was Mark Stevenson, deep accent could barely understand what he was saying. I called the number back, the guy said I owe money to an online payday loan place. I told him this was the first time I heard of this; he said the cops would show up at my work to arrest me. He also yelled and cursed at me when I was asking what was going on. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he said there wasn't anyone else and he hung up.

yea the same foreign man has been calling me about a law suite for  a loan they have saying he was filling a law suite against me and he knows my ssn# as well i asked him questions and he hung they phone up i then called back numerous of times and the phone doesnt even ring it says hello and this mailbox is full.

I also just received a call from the same person. After an hour or so of trying to contact someone, I finally got through to someone who calls himself Kevin Peterson. When I asked him of the nature of the call, he claims it is due to an unpaid loan and the sheriff will be at my place of employment to summons me to court. I asked for something in writing from his office, but he could not provide the information I requested. This is clearly a scam, I just need to know where I can report this so that we can all stop receiving these harassing phone calls from these people.

I just a phone call on my cell phone and my home number.  The guy said he was from a law office and I needed my Lawyer to giver him a call.  I hung up on him and he called me back.

same exact story,expcet from a James Brown?says a cop will show up at my job tomorrow to serve me papers reguarding a lawsuit.he didnt say what it was reguarding,but by reading im assuming its from a few paydays tht are unpaid.which hasnt appeared on my credit&im in a state that does not press charges against an unpaid debt.so i really am confused.idk if i can be sued or what?

I just got the same phone phone call at my place of employment from a Roger Williams.  He said if I don't return the call or my attorney didn't return the call, he could only wish me good luck and the situation falls on me.  Really? And what situation would that be?  I'm tempted to call back but I don't want to be aggravated.

same thing happened here.. i couldn't understand the message. and they need to be more courteous to the time they're calling. 6:45AM on a freaking saturday? are you freaking kidding me?!

This guy also called me at 7 am this morning. This guy needs to get a real job and quit bothering other people. He has called me from other #s as well and differnt names. Today he is Rogers Williams.
