- Hawker75| 1 replyReceived a polite message that my websites SSL certificate was about to expire (It was). Caller not from my web hosting company. Although probably legit, I assume they find expiring SSL certs with a bot of theirs or a service that provides leads. Their annual rate was $50.-which vary in cost from $18 to $300+ depending on security level & features. As the SSL cert is included in my annual hosting fee, I declined. Again polite & professional at all times.

- MR16441I got a call from this number after renewing some domain names on godaddy.com so I am assuming it is them
- rmp1699Spoke with Eddie who informed me my SSL was expiring. He was right and it prompted me to call my hosting company. I was pissed because my own hosting company did not reach out to me but it took Eddie from this other company to make me aware. It appears Comodo wants to set direct contracts. Got to love free enterprise.

- teacher replies to Hawker75Polite you say? No, they are just threatening people with an error message on the site. I've never contacted then, never paid them, and now , I guess, I'm in trouble!
- Smarter-Then-The-CallerCalled to tell me my SSL Cert was expiring on 1/6. The only problem is that they were not expired. Beware your SSL is something that is extremely important to have issued from a well know provider. Beware of who you deal with.

- Wise to your scams"Eddie" from ssl guru / rapid ssl new my domain/website and claimed the SSL Cert is expiring tomorrow. He is offering services to renew my ssl cert. Most people manage this through their web hosting service or personally, so be wary that these services may not be legit or come with hefty fees.

- MissMeWithThatReceived a TELEMARKETING call from 626-684-4455 about my website's SSL certificate. I do not do business with this company. It was a cold call. He clearly found my contact info online. I can renew my SSL certificate through the usual company. Just because my SSL is expiring and you will accept money to renew it, doesn't mean you have the right to call me with your random offer. A lot of people probably fall for this guy's sales pitch.

- RobRSomeone (probably Eddie, but I can't recall his name) contacted me after I received a message indicating my SSL had expired. I had just renewed it via GoDaddy a week or two earlier and was confused by the message as it made it sound like my SSL renewal had been rejected. I mentioned that to the caller, who let me continue to believe he was working with GoDaddy. He ended up selling me an SSL plan I did not need and I am trying to get a refund now. I did not realize I had been taken until I saw the name on my credit card statement.

It was a scammer. Your SSL issue has been resolved and no payment was required. That was definitely not Go Daddy that called you.- Caller: Godaddy
