called house # .left no message.   Called cell.  Asked if this was David ---------------  and then hung up.

The same happened to me a man calls and asked my name and pauses and then hangs up. I did like this it happened while there was and A/C Tech. was at my house .

called my cell,  did not leave message.

Same thing happened to me.  I called back and got someone to answer extension 311.  Let's keep calling these [***]!

These calls come from a Call Center in India, an outsourced service provider for a number of recruiting firms in the United States.  They are contracted to quickly verify phone numbers and addresses on resumes and employment applications so the actual recruiters don't waste time calling bad numbers.  Usually, if they get a "hello" from you - they just hang up and mark the number as active and move on to the next phone number on their call list.  That's pretty much all they do.  Depending on what the recruiter wants to verify - they may quickly also ask if you worked for some previous employer or if you have a particular skill set.

I received a call from this number and asked if this was my name. I said yes may I help you and the person hung up. How do I report this number to not receive it again. Thank you.

An earlier poster hit the nail on the head. Just got a call from this one on my home phone, followed immediately by a call to my cell - no message was left. I'm also listed on a couple of job boards.

I just got a call from this number. I didn't recognize it but still picked it up in the event it was about a job I had applied for. They asked for me by my first name but since I could tell it was likely a sales type call (thick accent) I said "she's not home. He then said something else I had to have him repeat several tines. What he asked was "To who am I speaking." I said her friend. Need to remember to ignore this number when/if they call again!!

called me after I applied for a gov position, asked for my ssn last 4 digits & dob, thought is was legitimate like an idiot, he is preying on people looking for employment. He needs to be stopped!

Getting at least a call a week. I fell for it the first time. Now I just pass to answer. Need an Air Horn app on the cell phone! Lol

Just a heads up, got a call from this number tonight, they wanted to give me a job in the Roseville at $20/hour however he wanted me to give him the last four digits of my social security number.  Man had a strong accent and was very difficult to understand.  Found my resume' on Monster jobs.  Please be very wary!!!
