I received US call from 630-752-9984, with the name of Patel Heesha. Scamer?

Recorded message stating that this is my final notice in regards to the IRS suing me. Then the message said to call a number in the 209 (California) area code to resolve the issue. I have gotten lots of the "Microsoft Windows Support" virus scam calls but this is the first IRS scam call so far.

I got a call from 630-752-9984 and they left a message saying it was the IRS and if I didn't call back they would continue with a laws against me . They said to call 360-851-1764. Didn't not call back.

This number is currently being used for "IRS lawsuit" scam calls.  It is also associated with 661-476-3043, 607-324-9764, and probably others.  Please report any calls to the Federal Trade Commission at www.ftc.gov.

The recorded message indicated it was the final notice that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and that I should call 1-360-851-1764.  This is a scam to get information from you.

Just got a call from this number.  The caller had a thick Indian accent.  He claimed to be from Ontario Debt Consolidation Corporation. Very disturbing that he knew our last name.  Asked if I was Mrs ---------.  I told him he was a scammer and I was not going to speak with him, then hung up on him.

Got a call from this number (caller ID said "Patel Neesha" saying "This is a final notice from the IRS.  The Internal Revenue Service is filing suit against you.  Please call 347-708-0070 immediately."

Do people really fall for this stuff??

Yep. Thousands have been taken for millions. I saw a news report recently where one woman's life's savings were wiped out by this scam. This is why education of the masses is so important.

These are criminal extortionists operating in overseas boiler rooms using VOIP to alter their identities and locations and out of the reach of US law enforcement.

If someone calls saying he's an IRS agent and demands that you send money immediately, hang up.
It's a phone scam.In fact, it tops the IRS "Dirty Dozen" list of tax scams this year, and it's been surging in recent months, the agency said Thursday.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), which oversees the IRS, has received reports of 290,000 scam calls since October 2013 and said nearly 3,000 victims have been swindled out of $14 million so far.

By altering their caller ID number to make it look like they're calling from an IRS office, these scammers often threaten vulnerable people like the elderly and new immigrants with things like arrest, deportation or the loss of their driver's license if they don't pay immediately for money purportedly owed.

Often leaving messages that say it's "urgent" you call them back, the scammers use common names and sometimes say they are from the IRS Criminal Division. They may even claim to know the last four digits of your Social Security number and send follow-up emails that appear to be from the IRS, TIGTA said.

They often demand that payments be made by prepaid debit card.

Once they make their threats, the scammers have been known to call back and again disguise their caller ID so it appears they are calling from the police department or the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Or sometimes when they call, they may say you have a refund due and ask you to provide personal information so you can claim it.

The real IRS will usually contact you by regular mail first, if it needs to contact you at all. And the agency never demands immediate payment by phone or asks for credit card or debit numbers if they do call. It also never asks for personal or financial information by email, text or social media.

Received a call today 3/27/15, saying it was a final notice from the IRS.  The IRS willnever call anyone-they do all of their contacting by regular mail.

Scamming is alive and well from this number. I received a call from this number today, did not answer it because I did not recognize the number, and received a recording stating that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me.  It sounded like a computer generated voice recording saying it was "Internal Revenue Services" advising of "case file" and for more info call 210-591-7630. I am posting this notice to warn others of current status for this number.

My caller id says the person calling is Patel Neesha - He says that the call is from IRS and I am being sued by the IRS unless I call back ASAP.  Really!?  IRS would not call -they would send a certified letter.

I got a call today from "Richard". He had a british(?) accent and said he was calling from "Federal Grants Department". I repeated his name and where he was calling from following with "Wow, I didn't now the federal department made phone calls". He then responded with "[***] you!" and hanged up. Be careful everyone, this is a SCAM!!!
