Robocall with prerecorded sound bytes claiming to be "Steve Savage" looking for donations.  The recording starts with "Oh I'm glad you picked up I was getting my answering machine voice ready. Ha ha ha.  Good morning this is Steve Savage calling from the Committee for police officers defense.  This call is recorded for quality assurance purposes. OK?"  As I suspected I was talking to a machine, I answered in a foreign language.  The next sound byte spoke about police getting killed.  When I again responded in a foreign language, the call was disconnected.  I called the number back and got another prerecorded message in the same voice "Thanks for calling back" and the plays the above recorded message.  It goes on to say that donations are not tax deductible.  Again, rather than forward the call to a live human when met with a foreign language, it disconnects.  There is no opportunity to be removed from their telemarketing list.  This scam has been around since at least 2015 and is not affiliated with the police.  I'm on the DNC list.  An internet search shows that an Asian massage center has used this phone number as recently as 2018.

My research shows that this, or similar recording are being sent from multiple different phone numbers.  Here are a few: 920 770-0299, 256 804-2125, 314 279-0806, 209 255-6016, 703 952-6029, 559 236-9499.  There are negative reviews on the BBB site indicating that this is likely a scam.  https://www.facebook.com/KXYL1023/posts/3495449753860007.

Yep, this moron uses the same inane intro, "I was getting my answeing machine voice ready ..." EVERY time he calls my number. After I light him up, he also always says. "I will remove your number from my list" but, of course, he won't do a damn thing.
