- Call type: Debt collector
- CarolineThe person said they were from a company that helps with debt. I said I didn't have any debt and to please not call me again. I didn't give them a chance to say anything further. They called on my cell phone.
- Caller: unknown
- Fight Back replies to DeniseThese phone calls are illegal. They are resulting from one company that has sold your numbers out to a bunch of unscrupulous companies that are scam artists.
The company that sold your phone numbers is called:
telephonemanagement.net
toll-free (866) 708-0401
Telephone Management Building
2331 SW 5th Avenue
Portland, OR 97201-6303
Don't bother calling them, you'll get ahold of someone who seems VERY nice, who says they will help you, and "Oh yes (sir/ma'am) that is illegal and we will do our best to take care of this problem" but they don't do anything about it, and the calls continue.
Would you like to fight back? Well you can. Here is what you do.
Right now for some crazy reason the Telephone Management Corp has an "A+" Better Business Burea Rating with the Better Business Bureau serving Alaska, Oregon & Western. You can see it right here:
http://www.bbb.org/oregon/business-reviews/te ... and-or-50001744
Go to the BBB website and file a complaint:
https://odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/complaintlink.aspx
For "My Complaint Involves:" pick "a product or service (other than a vehicle or a cell phone)"
Go ahead and post your location on the next page, don't worry about putting your information there, the Better Business Bureau is a very reputable organization.
Next page, pick "Search By Phone" and enter 503-223-7747, then "next".
Select Telephone Management Corp and hit "Next"
On the next page, be sure to hit "Next" and NOT "Cancel"
The next page, pick all "No" for the different choices, provided you have not taken them to court yet.
Then the next page, enter your information. Remember, it is important to get your information for the BBB to handle this case and get something done about this. They are trustworthy.
The next page, Step 3, select "2331 SW 5th Ave Portland, OR Main Billing Complaint Mailing"
On the next page, pick "Customer Service Issues" and then "6-603 Innapropriate Behavior By Customer Service Personnel"
On the next page, go into great detail, describe how Telephone Management Corp has sold your phone number to fraudulent telemarketers, to autodialers, etc. Explain that you are on the Do Not Call list (if you are) and also detail just how many calls you have recieved.
Explain that you want the company prosecuted for their behavior, that they do not deserve an A+ rating, that you will stand behind your complaint and that the company needs to pay for the illegal activities of those that they sell the numbers to.
PLEASE file the complaint. Without complaints by good people like you there is nothing that will ever be done about these people and the phone calls will continue unchecked, they will NEVER stop. Help bring them down!!!
Fighting Back - new employeeIt was likely Ring Central setting up my cell phone. I got a new job and they use Ring Central for forward calls.
- irishlassI am getting so many of these stupid calls telling me how to make money. I am not interested. How do I stop all this
- Caller: Don't know
- Call type: Telemarketer
- MoFoJust called and would not stop ringing. 3 minutes before they hung up of ringing. Idiots.
- Caller: New York

- kevoyep - a test call from ring central. I am porting a number and am having trouble and they have called a few times to make sure everything was working correctly. I haven't had anyone pressure me for a credit card number.
- Alaska JoeThey keep calling everyday claiming they are from yellowpages.com, but we do not have an account with nor do we need an account with yellowpages.com.
They have threatened if we do give them a credit card # and subscribe to yellowpages.com that we could go to jail.
We advised them we're on the National Do Not Call Registry thru the Federal Trade Commission, we've reported every cal for the past 2 weeksl. We even filed a complaint with our sheriff's dept for threats.- Caller: token communications 800# call back
- Call type: Telemarketer
- The TruthThis is a generic number used by Ring Central, a legitimate provider of 800 numbers and telephone services, for various purposes. People using Ring Central can use this number to disguise their caller ID. If you get a suspicious call, report it to Ring Central and let them know one of their subscribers is doing something illegal. Hopefully they can track down and disable the account.
- Caller: RingCentral
- Ring CentralThis is part of a pool of numbers used by Ring Central to forward calls made to toll free numbers.
We are a legit company that uses Ring Central to provide toll free service to our customers - and that number gets used.- Caller: Ring Central
- JackAs a ringcentral subscriber, I will confirm what The truth and ring Central say above. When you call a non-800 number, you can simply block your number. However when you call an 800 number, you can not block your number (probably government regulation crap). However, Ring central provides their subscribers a way to "block" a callers real id. There is an option to select where if a call is being placed to an 800 number, you can just select a "generic" number to display instead of your real number. This just happens to be the number that they display. The calls are most likely coming from unscrupulous companies who don't want to broadcast their real number.
If you get harassing calls that show this number, then you should call Ring central with the time and date to complain. If they get enough complaints they will hopefully disconnect that subscriber or at least prevent them from using numbers other than their real number.- Caller: Ring Central (well not really)
- Could Be Almost AnyoneI can verify what Jack wrote on 14 Mar 2012:
The number 631-676-1623 is a generic line that is used by Ring Central and could apply to ANY of their Thousands of subscribers. If you have outgoing lines with them and want to block your outgoing caller ID, Ring Central offers a "generic number" to accommodate services that don't accept calls from lines with blocked caller ids.
I don't know if there is anything that can realistically be done about it. The only chance you have of dealing with it is if you answer the call and the caller divulges their real identity. If that does happen, then you can call Ring Central and complain or take other action. It's easier to just pickup the phone to stop the ringing and hang up again.- Caller: Telecom Service Provider Outgoing Number
- Retired Robert 94041I received two calls from 631-676-1623
Tuesday, 05 February, 2013: 12:02 am
Wednesday, 06 February, 2013: 12:58 am
Both times the caller ID read "Ringcentral, IN, 631-676-1623"
Area code 631: For Eastern Long Island, Suffolk County, NY.
QUESTION: How can area code 631 be associated with Indiana (IN)?
ANSWER: Because the calls are faked, spoofed, scam and sham, AND to also see how much information unsuspecting naive persons are WILLING TO GIVE to complete total strangers.
Carrier: Cablevision Lightpath, Inc., NY

- K. WaltersI'm a freight broker for a U.S. transportation company. We post load opportunities for freight carriers on several internet sites. I received a call from this number inquiring on one of my loads. My only complaint with the caller was that he was very rude and hung up on me mid-sentence. I was going to call him back, but the message said it was Ring Central. Incidentally, we have a privacy blocker on all our company phone lines, to prevent unknown calls from getting through, but this would get around that. I don't like not knowing with whom I'm dealing.
