Another "Registry" of outstanding professionals.  Smooth talk all designed to part the call recipient with his or her money.  Part of the vanity press industry.

This is an update to my previous post.  Found the name of the business: Remington Registry (of outstanding professionals.)

i actually thought it was pretty cool. it cost me less then $200 to get my name out there and 4 months later i got 4 new clients from networking

Two persistent phone calls and a hard sell.  Cost me $49.00.  Where was my mind?  I don't need a bio.

Found that $699. was charged to a credit card as soon as we hung up, although a credit card
was not given out. After a 30-minute phone argument they they said I would be credited but
my name would be stripped from their "registry of outstanding professionals".

I told them that I had plenty of networking and didn't need their book to network me any further. I am not about to give them $99.00 or any other fee that they may need for membership. Their number was 631- 676-3347 and seems to fit the above description. I looked it up online as the seller was giving me her spiel and I proceeded to hang up and not answer the phone.

I got a telemarketer call from Remington Registry (516-909-7281) who seem to have a different come on for whoever they call.  There was no mention of "networking," just a lot of dumping on "Who's Who in America" and how I deserved to write a full biography about myself.  After a lot of hard sell I decided that I liked the idea of writing a full biography of myself.  They instantly put $349 on my charge card.  Before I had even received the forms to fill out they called again and said I was so important  (I'm not) that they wanted to move me to the front of the book and add a photo.  Five times I asked if this was going to cost more and they assured me it would cost me nothing.  The next month there was a $700+ charge on my credit card which was immediately taken off when I filed a complaint.  Months went by and they finally sent me the questionarre which I filled out and returned.  I asked three times to see a copy of my biography and each time was assured it was going right out.  The final call I recieved was to ask me how many copies of the book I wanted at $400+.   I said none and again said to send a copy of my final biography.  Three weeks later I received it.  It was crap and not only that, I found that they had taken incorrect information from my Who's Who biography: information I had not provided them because it was wrong.  I wrote a letter of complaint to my credit card company and the card company set up a three way call with the owner of the company.  He argued with me that if I had a complaint I should have contacted them sooner.  I said, how could I complain since they only sent me the final copy that day.  The owner finally screamed at me that I'd never get a dime from them.  The representative of the card company said I would be credited my original cost for joining, $349.  A complete scam!  Had I agreed to their terms it would have cost me almost $1,500.  If Remington Registry calls, tell them to take a flying one on a rolling dognut.

They used  different numbers, 631-256-5077 and also 631-672-7657.Also, 516-909-7281.  Said they were Remington Registry of Outstanding Professionals and were part of Google Books. Cannot find any such connection. After a few minutes I said I didn't want to be in their registry and hung up. They claim they give their books to children's homes and YMCA's and that I would be a mentor. Seems to be a vanity thing to appeal to egos.

Remington Registry--They publish a book under the publishing house of "Xlibris."  Amazon has them in Kindle and Barnes and Noble says they can provide the book. The book gives lavish praise "uncountable achievements" "contributions that have changed the world" to people who are mid-level employees who may feel they never had the recognition they warrant. Parts of the book can be read on the Kindle site. Still don't see any connection with Google, although the web seems to connect them. In their telephone conversations they emphasize they are part of Google Books--but maybe everything is as part of Google's effort to digitize everything.

I just got a scam call from Fran Gooden of Remington Registry.  Number was slightly different:
631 569 0941.  Same area code, similar number.  It all sounded fishy.  She was saying, "mmmkay" like Mr. Mackey a lot.  And she wanted to ask me questions over the phone but refused to send them via mail.  I said, "You realize this all sounds suspicious and weird?"  I asked her if she would be asking me to buy anything and she said, "there will be no obligation".  Weird and suspicious.

Have told them repeatedly that I am not interested after having spent 549 dollars for what I consider NOTHING.. I do not need a plaque to hang on my wall..

This is Todd Gephart phone number 717-545-9876!  I received a phone call message on my answering machine looking for Linda Gephart.   Linda Gephart died October 22, 2011!  Please remove this number from your data base unless you can help me with the retrieval of (2) firearms she stole from my fathers estate!  I still have the original boxes they came in as proof!  Please contact only if you can retrieve these (2) firearms! Thanks

I was solicited by this company Remington Registry back in 2010 at phone number (631) 778-8081. The scam artist solicitor at this company was Robert Cuillo. They completely stole my information from Cambrige Who's Who. I joined but realized what a joke this was. After researching on the internet I see that this is just a scam organization. Since then I have been solicited periodically to join up.

On 7/26/2012 I was called by Tiffany Carter at this company with caller ID (631) 319-1455. I told her that if I was called again I would file for harassement.

I was called again on 2/6/2013 by a person Christina Brachellez by caller ID (631) 319-1303. I asked for her to send me an email. She passed me to John Ficarra, a managing director as his last email to me in 2010 indicated. I asked John to send me an email right now. He gave me a gmail account not even a company email address. When I asked him to spell his name which he did but then changed the conversation and wanted me to email at the gmail account. I then asked him to repeat his name and he became very rude asking if there was something wrong with me. I heard him tell Christina "this guy is a moron" and delete my file. I am a medical director at my hospital so I can assure anyone that I am not a moron. Perhaps Mr. Ficarra was reflecting on his own self when he made that comment. This is called "projection" by psych terms.

This is the kind of a person who heads an organization that they claim to be "respectable"? There are enough complaints out there on the internet to say otherwise. I have seen my profile in this book online available on Amazaon and it is nothing more than a copy of my profile available online at Cambridge Who's Who.

I am getting repeated calls from "Remington Registry" Now. Still. June, 2013.  They are still using the SAME phone number listed in the previous post. 631-319-1455.  Not only did they talk me into giving them $500 for a "special award" to be presented in a book to the President of the US.  THEY CASHED MY CHECK TWICE>  causing me to have to close my accounts, reorder checks, I was passed to the same JOHN FICARRA, and also received a message from a CHRISTINA with a different last name.  I saw a copy of my own profile. It has so many inaccurate facts in it that it is unidentifiable as my own.  I was also called by Melissa (no last name) using the phone number 631-316-6348 that shows up as UNKNOWN.  When you call the number back,the person who answers the phone just says . "please leave your message for JAY".  Another message was left on my answering machine of an actual argument by the person whose voice I recognized as "John Ficcara".    Don't count on your bank to help you retrieve your stolen money either.

Total scam.  Just hang up and block the number.

Dr Ali, this is tarnishing my good name because I am not a scam artist solicitor.  The opposite is true is why I only worked there until I didnt feel we were carrying through on all the promises I was making.  I put my faith in the organization to provide the support.   I apologize and wish I never worked for Remington Registry.  I never did bad business and I never lied to you on purpose.  I told you what I believed to be true.  I no longer work for that company for obvious reasons.  I have no reason to waste my talents doing bad things to good people.   Id be happy to help you i any way.  Just ask and I will give you my contact info.  I have nothing to hide.  I am an honest professional like you.

Remington sounded like a good idea. They claim to donated books to children's hospitals and YMCAs so of course I was on board .." anything for the kids." I soon realized that this company is ran by a money hungry scam artist.  He and his team of editors allegedly report to a Mr. Bill Franz who is 89yerars old and has a soft spot for me.. I would imagine at 89 he does. I am so sorry I fell for this . Shame on me. I am hoping others catch on and get their hard earned money back if possible. There are real registries out there that feature professionals respectfully and create biographies that are not filled with fluff. Anyone that claims to be inspiring the youth of America and teaches their young employees to lie and steel from others is a danger to future America. Protect yourself Protect your money. And please don't give this man your story because he doesn't care about it. He wants  your banking information instead. Ohh .. the White House requested 4 copies ... Lets see if they get them.. I sure haven't received mine.
