Thanks for the info. I didn't answer the call....instead I blocked it so that they can't reach me again. So much for the No-call list that I'm registered for!

Shame on these people! They have called at my work 3 times today! The caller ID comes up as "United Breast C". The woman who talks to you when you are answering the phone asks for Sandra. She first called right around 8am. I politely told the lady that we are a place of business and that she has the wrong number, then she hung up. She called again around 2:15pm. I answered and again she just said, "Uhhh, Sandra?" Again, I told her we are a place of business and that she has the wrong number. Called back a THIRD TIME at 3:30pm. My co-worker answered this time. The lady again asked for Sandra. My co-worker tried to tell them AGAIN that we are a place of business but this time, the woman began to start her little speech about different facts about breast cancer and statistics. My co-worker told her politely to put us on their "Do not call" list. Hopefully they will stop calling us!!!

    I don't like robo-liars
I think this is a scam. The "caller" first said, "(giggle) It's about as hard to get a hold of you as it is to get my kids to clean their rooms." I was working from home, and it sounded like one of my coworkers, but then she said, "This is Maria with United Breast Cancer Foundation." At first, I listened politely, thinking it was a real person. Then it hit me that I was speaking with a robot, so I interrupted and said, "Is this a robot?" "Caller" replied simply, "No." So I asked, "Who is the president of the United States?" Caller said, "Okay, if you can't help now, we'll just call back later," or something to that effect. There was no option to opt out of calls. I hate these kinds of robo-calls that try to trick you into thinking you are speaking with a real person, so I called them back for two reasons, to give them an earful for basically lying to people and to ask to have my name removed from their list. When I called the number back, I got a machine that gave me several options. One was to speak to a live person. When I made that selection, the machine told me to leave my name and number and someone would call me back in the next two or three business days. I tried some of the other options to try to get a live person, but it was impossible. Finally, I chose number two, the opt-out option. The machine message tried to GUILT me and then verified my phone number. I was told by the machine that my phone number would be removed within the next few days. I received their call around 9:30 a.m. and called back shortly thereafter. So I find it highly suspicious that a charity doesn't have someone on hand to speak to a potential donor during regular business hours. Also, I don't think a legitimate charity would allow a "robot" to lie. And if it is a legitimate charity, I certainly would not donate to a non-profit that basically lies to me when they call.

I've been getting daily calls from this number so I finally decided to pick up to see what they wanted. On the onther end of the line, there was what sounded like a kind older lady. She mentioned my father's name (my parents used to live in the house I currently live in now) and I said that he wasn't available and I asked if I could take a message for her. She said something along the lines of "Oh, it's fine! I can talk to you! Trying to get ahold of you guys is like trying to get my children out of bed in the morning! Hahaha!" and she proceeded to give me details on what she was raising money for. Since she seemed nice I figured I'd just let her down easy so I told her that we weren't interested in donating at this time. She then asked to speak with my mom and dad and I said that neither of them were home. Then she said the thing about getting her kids out of bed again. Word for word. Exact same tone. Exact same laugh. It was a recording. I just got played. By an elderly lady.

    tl;dr
    It's a recording that doesn't sound like a recording. I'd say it's a scam.

Thank you for posting all of this very helpful information!  I actually spoke to the recording -- it's very smart and knows how to answer, to a degree, but you can tell it's a voice-activated recording, and it was a little scary.  Glad I didn't donate.

Received a call to our land line from this number today (28 Dec 2016) at 11:23 am (Central Time.) Caller ID: United Breast C. (United Breast Cancer Foundation.) We have received a couple of calls from this number over the past 2 weeks, with no message left. This time I answered so I could tell them to take our number off their calling list. I got no reply when I picked up and said "hello." I said "hello" a 2nd time. Still no voice (recorded or real) on the other end. I held on and eventually heard the click of the call being disconnected. Then, the dial tone started. We live in Missouri. I do not find the organization listed as a registered charity in Missouri. See: https://www.ago.mo.gov/divisions/consumer/check-a-charity . I suspect it's a scam.

Beware of this caller!  This sounded like one of those calls that asks you yes/no questions to get you to say "yes," and then scam you into paying for something you did not order.

Continuing daily calls from these idiots.
While I would hate to use that term against a high quality cancer charity, I don't have the slightest idea if this even really IS a legitimate charity at all, or a total scam. And at this point I don't care. Anyone who calls every day, unsolicited, sometimes more than once a day, won't leave a message or send out a letter, trying to get your money, is an idiot. Especially if its a fake robo-recording meant to fool you as other people here claim.
As for the DNC List,  the category of "charity" should not include harassment being allowed.

Very sophisticated robot from United Breast Cancer Foundation. Fascinatingly real sounding older woman voice with realistic responses and high-pressure sales pitch. I am a cancer researcher so was naturally suspicious. This foundation is in the top 50 worst charities list which you can find here: http://www.tampabay.com/americas-worst-charities/. Only around 1 in 20 dollars donated goes to actual recipients, so if you give them $20, $1 might go to someone with breast cancer.

Oontinuous badgering, day and night.  Apparently it is a sophisticated robo call with real sounding interaction.  Tends to ask questions that would elicit a 'yes' response implying a buying scam. Caller ID is variable thus defeating 'call bllocking options'.

I'd gotten a few month's break from these calls by actually talking to a person. I asked them how much of my donation would actually go t help breast cancer patients, survivors. etc. I got an honest answer  - about 6%.. When I told the person calling that it would make much more sense for me to physically give my money to anybody dealing with breast cancer in any way at all, she hung up. I have a robocall blocker now that diverts robocalls after one ring but I still got the caller id info.  So if you don't have any call blockers, do what I did and at least you'll get a break for a while.

They called last night and I couldn't get the phone fast enough before a woman hung up. First she said my husband's first name several times followed by an "Are you there?" Then she made an annoyed noise and hung up. She said nothing about breast cancer, but when I called the number back a few times, it said a "United Breast Cancer" spiel each time and gave me a menu of numbers to choose from. I gave my poor husband hell because something like this happened last summer.. EXACTLY like this. He had recently lost his job and was looking at information about Obamacare on "The marketplace." They kept calling and hanging up after their message, and the. Had the woman who keep repeating my husband's first name as if they were personally acquainted.

I hope they call back. I'll say, "Oh I'm sorry-- I donated $10,000.00 to the woman I spoke to yesterday!"
