Texted and used the name of my dealership wanting to schedule for a recall. My dealership's text messages do not come form MO phone numbers. They are local. Definite scam.

I received the same text

I received the same text, saying for replacement of the airbag malfunction that I already had replaced 2 years ago when Ford first realized it was needed.

I got text from this number about a recall, but when i looked up open recall it is for something not being sealed which could lead to wheel bearing rusting. Since my suv is 2003 and has over 200k i doubt thise issue would be showing up at this time. Also why is a missouri number texting about a behicle purchased in texas?

Because that is who the factory hired to make the calls?  The simple solution would be to call your dealer and ask them.  If it is recalled then you can get it fixed and if it isn't then maybe they simply called a number that used to be listed.

Text said, "Thank you for letting us know.  We will update our records."   Without knowing whom it was from, I did not respond, and deleted the message.

Text said “let me know when you’re available”.  I deleted and reported as junk

Also got a phone call and a text message from this number, claiming to be my local dealer.  I'm in Virginia, and the number if from Missouri.

Second Text from number.  Knows my name, dealer, etc. Says there's a recall for 'powertrain control module recalibration'. However, I have FordPass app that monitors everything and sends me notifications on Oil Life, Low Tire and Recalls.  I'll call the dealer if I receive another text .

I got the same text saying that there was a recall on my vehicle. My dealer is in Texas and this is a Missouri phone number. I continued to engage and once I "confirmed my appointment" they asked me to confirm my address so they could send their service tech out to take care of it. Definitely not how recalls work. I sent them to the Sallie house in Kansas.

I got a text saying they were the local dealership to assist for a recall on my vehicle.  They are a mobile unit, would come to my house to repair…. ? Yeah Right, Umm ask for the keys and drive away?? Sorry, not trusting, think this is a scam… I hope they don’t catch naive people who fall for this.

Claimed to be my Honda Dealer asking to schedule recall work.  Told them it’s odd their number is out of a different state.  They claimed to be a recall center for the dealer.

This number called claiming to be the dealer I work for. When he said that he was from my dealer I started laughing and he said I have the wrong number.

Had my full name and knew my car make and model saying they want so send someone out for a recall job.

Had the same experience as the others above. Luckily I researched this before I gave out information. Sad thing is, it was believable since they knew about my car and a current recall that is actually happening for my car's year make and model. I got suspicious when the language they were responding with didn't sound American and the area code was not from my area.

Got 4 texts from this number 636-498-9994 and another 2 texts from a number similar 636-498-9978 within an hour claiming they needed to send a technician out to fix our recall at no charge to us. I ignored the messages. They continued texting daily the next 3 days wanting to schedule a repair at our home. Finally texted back today and told them we no longer owned the vehicle and to stop texting. When we owned the vehicle in question we got recall notices in the mail and our dealership called us directly. Why don't these people get real jobs instead of harassing people and trying to scam them?

yes, a scam caller. they texted and claimed to be my dealership but not even in same state. did not reply or call.
